Our Dreamy Autumn Mixed Case features the bottles we really feel like opening and sharing during this time of the year. Each case includes three bottles of the following wines:

3 bottles x Paulo Laureano Vinhas Velhas Branco 2021 (Alentejo, Portugal)
White | Antão Vaz, Arinto, Fernão Pires

Paulo Laureano is one of the most respected Portuguese winemakers and a reference for wines in the Alentejo region. Agronomist and oenologist, trained between Portugal, Australia, and Spain, after teaching at the University of Évora for 10 years, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to what has moved him since 2003, making wine.

As the name indicates, this wine is made with old vines of Portuguese native varieties such as Antão Vaz, Arinto and Fernão Pires. The three of them are vinified separately and blended before bottling, being the Antão Vaz fermented in barrels, and the other two in stainless steel.

Fresh and elegant, with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and hints of white flowers. On the palate, this blend of white varieties is silky and creamy, and has an excellent acidity.

Pairing suggestion: Pair this wine with grilled fish and soft cheeses.

3 bottles x Fabulas Fortudo Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo (Abruzzo, Italy)
Rose |
Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo

Fabulas is a collaboration between a group of farmers, friends and a fabulous winemaker. The vineyards of Fabulas winery are located in the municipality of Pretoro (602 m a.s.l.) in the Majella National Park. Here you can really feel the influence of the massif mountain that gives its name to the park, and even though only 35 km far away there is the sea its mitigation effect is almost absent.

‘Fortitudo’ has an intense and brilliant cherry pink colour. This fresh yet structured rosé has aromas of fragrant berries, pomegranate, and balsamic tones. Deliciously juicy in the palate, this is the rosé you want to have nearby to quench your thirst during the warm days.

Pairing suggestion: Perfect to accompany appetizers. This wine is also perfect with pizza.

3 bottles x Domaine Baud 'Rouge Ancestral' Côtes du Jura AOC 2020 (Jura, France)
Red | Pinot Noir, Trousseau

The Baud estate dates back to 1742, today the 9th generation manages the winery. Siblings Clementine and Bastien, both under 30, are making some of the best-value wines in the area. Jura is that narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an Ocean and today still bares many of the fossils from that time. If you kick a stone in a Jura vineyard, it will probably be a fossil!

A delicious blend of 70% Trousseau and 30% Pinot Noir, this cuvée is named “Ancestral” because it is made from Baud's oldest plots of red grapes planted by Clementine and Bastien's grandfather.

This light and whimsical red wine has aromas of leather and concentrated notes of morello cherry and wild strawberries. The tannins are soft, silky, and elegant. Extra sensation with a light chill.

Pairing suggestion: Enjoy it on its own, or serve with red meats such as game and venison.

3 bottles x Famille Arbeau On l'appelle Braucol 2020 (Southwest France, France)
Red | Barbera

Vignobles Arbeau was started in 1878, when Anne Arbeau's great-great-grandmother purchased the estate.

About 50% of the estate is planted with Negrette and the remaining vines are a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, and Fer Servadou (an alternative name in Gaillac for Braucol!). The Arbeau family practices sustainable farming and hopes to gain organic certification in the near future. They use native yeasts and there is no filtration.

Braucol is a native grape of the South West, and the Arbeau famille cultivates it along the Tarn River. This wine with spicy blackberry flavours is fresh with acidity and gentle with tannins. Light smokiness adds interest. It is ready to drink.

Pairing suggestion: This wine goes very well with red meat, meat in sauce, game, strong cheeses such as Livarot, Munster...

About the Winery

Domaine Baud Père et Fils

The history of Domaine Baud dates back to 1742, and it wasn't until 1950 when René Baud, the 7th generation, rebuilt the vineyard which had suffered from the phylloxera crisis and two World Wars.

Starting with only 4 hectares, the vineyard progressively expanded to 20 hectares with the help of successive generations. Now, managed by siblings Clémentine and Bastien, the 9th generation, the estate continues to flourish and grow, with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture and preserving the traditions and style that makes the wines of the Jura so unique and incredible.

The estate achieved the Terra Vitis certification in 2014 for its eco-friendly work and environmental preservation.

Fabulas

Fabulas is a collaboration between a group of farmers, friends and a fabulous winemaker. The vineyards of Fabulas winery are located in the municipality of Pretoro (602 m a.s.l.) in the Majella National Park. Even though the vinelands are only 35km away from the Adriatic sea, its influence is almost entirely blocked by the mountain ranges that surround the property. Although Abruzzo is a wine region often misunderstood, Fabulas, along with a few other noteworthy producers, have been elevating Abruzzo wines through quality growing practices and stellar winemaking.

The wines of Fabulas and their labels represent a journey through history, traditions and values – their collection of seven low-intervention wines are inspired by the local folklores of Abruzzo, each bottle portrays one of the seven women warriors who once gracefully served the region.
