Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

A striking expression of old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon, seamlessly balancing structure, depth, and vibrant energy. The nose opens with ripe black plum and cassis aromas, unfolding into layers of savoury tapenade, earthy woodland notes, and a delicate lift of sweet balsam. On the palate, it is full-bodied with finely grained tannins that provide impressive tension, enhanced by naturally bright flavours and acidity. The long, precise finish promises continued complexity and remarkable aging potential for those who can wait.

This unique wine is sourced from a combination of parcels from cool areas located in the Coastal Range of D.O Maule that deliver lively wines with tremendous fruit intensity. Los Compadres (co-fathers) refers to the friendship and partnership with growers of old vine Cabernet Sauvignon that have trusted Vinos Baettig with grapes coming from the best lots of dry farmed vineyards. These special parcels are close in term of quality and style providing different components to Vinos Baettig Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine opens up with alluring aromas of blackcurrants and raspberries, quickly allowing notes of mint leaves and cigar box to unfold alongside the fruit. Full-bodied on the palate without feeling heavy, there's excellent concentration of ripe fruit, tea leaves and black olive tapenade that tempers the sturdy tannins. Sprightly acidity underscores the wine with freshness and helps carry the fruit and gentle spices into the finish. 

The robustness of Cab Sauv will match nicely with meat-based pasta dishes such as lasagna, baked ziti or ragu/bolognese sauce.

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

The 2022 vintage delivered another year of excellent ripeness and high-quality grapes. Lively and expressive, this wine opens with bright aromas of citrus—lemon and grapefruit—alongside delicate notes of pear and crisp apple. Subtle mineral nuances, characteristic of the region, add depth, while a hint of florals enhances its elegant bouquet. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with crisp acidity that brings energy and precision. Flavours of juicy orchard fruits are layered with slate-like minerality and a touch of salinity, leading to a clean, refreshing finish that lingers beautifully.

Pairs wonderfully with seafood-based dishes - try with steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic broth or fresh oysters on the half shell with a mignonette sauce.
