From the signature sea breezes of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula to the hidden gem of Kuitpo Forest and the cool charms of the Adelaide Hills, Monterra produces wines that beautifully reflect these unique regions. By working closely in their estate vineyards and with long-term growers tending to small parcels of family-farmed fruit, Monterra ensures that the natural conditions of each environment are celebrated, resulting in the finest expression of terroir every vintage.

Full-bodied and deliciously mouth-filling, this wine offers heaps of aromas and flavour that come together in a rich and juicy style. It features inviting scents of black cherries and blueberries, with hints of jam and a touch of sweet spices on the nose. The softly integrated tannins enhance the mid-palate flavours of blackberry pie and milk chocolate, lingering beautifully and leaving a lasting impression after every sip.

This will pair well with grilled or roast beef served rare or with a pepper sauce. It's also an excellent match with barbecued ribs, sausages, smoked brisket, or grilled vegetables. As the weather cools, it shines alongside hearty stews and chilis.

It's plump and flavoursome in the mouth, offering terrific fruit weight and richly textured mouthfeel, leading to a splendidly long, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2035.

Sister’s Run is serious fun and serious wine. The talented, young winemaker Elena Brooks (of Dandelion Vineyards and Heirloom Vineyards fame) wears steel cap work boots every day of course, but carries a pair of high heels in back of the ute for emergencies - like last minute invitations to accept trophies at gala wine show dinners and the like!

Notes of black cherries dipped in milk chocolate kick things off on the nose followed by hints of violet florals and sweet clove spices from tempered oak. An underlying herbal streak underscores the sweet aromatics, adding a savoury, almost minty edge beneath the fruit. Smooth tannins provide a rounded grip on the palate and are wrapped up by flavours of warm stewed plums with a touch of Pastis. Hallmark notes of cracked black pepper cascade into the rich finish. The balance between ripe fruit and tannin, along with underlying acidity, makes this big red incredibly drinkable.

Serve this with ease alongside an eggplant laksa or peppered chicken grilled on the barbecue. Don't be afraid to cellar some of this wine too - There's reward ahead.

Sister’s Run is serious fun. Their talented young winemaker Elena wears steel cap work boots every day of course, but carries a pair of high heels in back of the ute, only for emergencies, like last minute invitations to accept trophies at gala wine show dinners and the like.

Returning from a ‘knees-up’ at midnight, mid vintage, she managed to kick off one high heel and slip back into a boot’ just as the cellar crew cried out, ‘Run Sister Run’; and exactly then their winemaker and label took flight!

The stiletto and boot are Sister’s Run; an independently owned and operated winery with a fierce commitment to making the best wines they can from family vineyards. They don’t take ourselves as seriously as we take our wines, but agree with Elena, all you need to know about wine is the five ‘V’s and remember the best wine is the wine you like.
