Nicholas Pearce Crew Sauvage Chardonnay VQA Niagara Peninsula 2021. Expect straw gold in the glass with gorgeous orchard fruits, apple and peach on the nose with notes of marine, hazelnut, lemon custard, and blonde caramel essence. This elegant wine offers a lovely texture on the palate, rich and round with biscuits and cream, while boasting a lip-smacking acidity with an herbal tea tannin.

This world class Niagara Chardonnay is ready to pair with just about anything, but we are thinking white fish in beurre blanc, cream based pastas or fresh salads garnished with lots of cheese.

Light ruby-red in the glass, high toned aromas of cherry, strawberry, pomegranate, backed by roasted herbs, spice and pepper. Great weight and poise for Ontario, but still the light to medium bodied Pinot Spectrum with balanced tannins and acids holding on to fine and lengthy finish.

Certainly a vintage on the edge, marked by many cold and wet days. However, as every mother does, mother (nature) kicked in and saved the day with a gloriously warm and dry finally to the cooler growing season.

Juicy & Spiced

Keint-He Winery & Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Prince Edward County. The winery has a strong focus on varietals that are typically grown in Burgundy, specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; through which they truly express the best of the County with wonderful individual expressions. Keint-He’s approach to winemaking is as down-to-earth as it gets and their quality is second to none.

Strawberry, raspberry and red cherry aromas lead the way on the nose, with hints of sweet spice and tomato leaf in the background. Freshly crushed ripe berries continue on the palate, with dried leaf, minerality and spice in the background. The mouthfeel is lean and silky smooth, with very fine tannin and great County acidity.

This Pinot Noir is a very versatile wine given it’s acidity and low tannin. Pinot Noir pairs particularly well with duck, chicken, pork, and mushrooms.

The depth of this wine was structured by the warm summer and wet autumn. This wine stays true to the Leaning Post style and terroir of Armbrust Vineyard, it demonstrates lots of earth, mushroom  on the nose which is complimented by blackberry and cherry fruit with some beautiful freshly picked lavender. In the mouth there is lots of beautiful beet, blackberry, kirsch, and cracked pepper. The finish is long and delectable.

Try with brie, camembert, your favourite burger, or anything on your plate this Thanksgiving.

Earthy & Floral

A blend of fruit from 4 different Vineyards from 4 different sub-appellations, this wine explodes out of the glass with wonderful mulberry, cherry kirsch, pomegranate, and raspberry followed closely by dried basil and tarragon, layered over mushroom and tobacco leaf. It shows up with some air, with more fullness and roundness than some previous vintages. The palate in particular shows good fullness in the mouth with glace cherry married to sugar beet, followed closely by damp leaves and dirt mixed with wet stone with traces of spice lingering on the wonderfully long finish. Balanced acidity follows a soft and supple mouthfeel that will age for 3-4 years but can certainly be enjoyed now.

Pair this Pinot Noir with smoky glazed ham or grilled salmon.

Spiced & Round

This blended wine (61% Merlot, 39& Cabernet Franc) always over-delivers massively for the price. Blackberry, cassis, raspberry and mulberry instantly appear on the nose, with lilac, cracked white pepper, licorice and pancetta following closely behind. On the palate, the warmth and weight of the 2020 vintage is immediately evident, with a very broad and weighty mid-palate featuring plum, wild-blueberry, and strawberry layered over dark- chocolate and graphite with wisps of herbs-de-provence and black olive fading in and out.

The powerful but soft tannins make it satisfying to drink now with a good decant, but it will certainly age well over the next 5-8 years. Great with burgers, cured meat, and hard cheese.

Spicy & Round

This Merlot is part of Leaning Post's 'Freaks & Geek' collection, their Natural Wines series. The Merlot Vin Nature 2018 is a truly deep and fascinating wine, it reminds us of walking through the pine and mossy dampness of a forest path by a lake in the Canadian Shield on a cool autumn evening, stopping to pick some wild-blueberries and noticing in the background a roaring fire.

Pair this natural Merlot with roasted white meat or sautéed vegetables.

This wine combines classic “P(inot)-funk” flavours of candy cane beet root, earth, leaves and dirt with stunning bing cherry and raspberry.  Made in a style that is slightly more approachable than our single-vineyard Pinots, it still shows incredible depth and complexity. The incredibly supple mouthfeel, medium body and balanced acidity frame exceptional flavour intensity, leading to a long, sweeping finish the ends on a decidedly mineral and crunchy note.

A true Niagara Villages wine focused on a blend of organic, biodynamic and uncertified sustainably farmed vineyards throughout the Peninsula with a focus on Quarry Road (Vinemount Ridge), Cherry Road (Twenty Mile Bench) & the Tintern Vineyard. The grapes are harvested, destemmed, wild fermented "whole berry" for 18 days, before gravity flow takes them into French barrels. This fresh Pinot Noir was then left to age for 16 months in barrel before bottling.

Cool-climate Merlot at its best. This wine is loaded with all things blue and moody: damson plums, violet, fig, blue-acai, and chocolate-covered blueberry. Rich oak tones of vanilla, chocolate, and marshmallow balance out the fruit intensity and leave a long yet distinguished finish.

A cooler vintage brings freshness to one of the county’s best varieties. Strawberry, red currant, candied cherry, and a savoury garrigue all burst from the glass. Tones of sumac, cedar, bittersweet chocolate and cinnamon bark bring a discerning finish to this elegant grape. The classic pairing of seared duck breast and mushroom risotto are a must-have.

Classically, a pan seared or confit duck breast with black pepper and wild mushroom risotto is delightful. We also recommend blue cheeses, gruyere, taleggio, jollof with smoked mackerel, grilled pork butt chop with a sumac compote, black truffles, miso chicken, grilled salmon, or tuna sashimi.

Juicy & Floral

This Garnacha focused wine is called Bozeto de Exopto which translated from Latin means “sketch” or “draft”. As the name implies, it is their “beginning” wine.  The blend is largely Garnacha (Yerga-Agudo) with Tempranillo (Abalos) and some Graciano (Yerga) all of which are naturally fermented and then aged for 6 months in concrete and 5,000L oak vats  for 6 months before being bottled.

Deep red with a bright rim. Spicy cherry and black raspberry on the nose, with brisk mineral and floral overtones. Juicy and focused, offering sweet raspberry and blackberry flavours and snappy acidity. Impresses with precision rather than power, and finishes with juicy berry flavours and good persistence.

Enjoy this wine with grilled meats, roasted turkey and cured cheeses.

Elegant & Powerful

Réva manages vineyards in some of the most important Langhe crus: Ravera in Novello, Lazzarito in Serralunga and Cannubi in Barolo. Réva winery focuses on producing wines of excellence with extreme attention to the particular characteristics of each grape variety and the utmost respect for diversity. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and the estate is run by a group of young professionals who value both tradition and innovation.

The grapes for this Barolo come from carefully selected vineyards in Monforte d'Alba, Novello, Serralunga d'Alba and Grinzane Cavour. Fermented spontaneously on the skins for 35 days, it has been aged in oak barrels for 24 months.

A limited series of only 4,500 bottles, this Barolo delivers aromas of sage, rose petals, red-skinned berry and a delicate hint of tobacco. The palate is full, deep and juicy, with peppery notes of Morello cherry and clove, and delicate tannins.

Bold & Earthy

Born and raised in the New World but influenced by his time in Bordeaux, this Columbia Valley Cab represents Nicholas’s story in a bottle - New World terroir meets old world "savoir faire".

Bold and full-bodied, with balance and complexity. Showing aromas of black and red fruits, toasted herbs, graphite and leather. A mouthful of ripe dark fruit consisting of blackberry and black currant combined with notes of spice and dark chocolate. A fruit-forward finish offering a balanced and integrated tannin structure. This Cab is a blend of two different vineyards, one in Wahluke Slope AVA; the other in Horse Heaven Hills AVA. 

Rue Naujac is the street Nicholas lived on while studying/working in France and Bordeaux is the country's 33rd department, both of which gave the inspiration for the name and lot #! He would always make reference to the "33" as a slang name for the city of Bordeaux (like THE6IX), always to the amusement of his French entourage.

Those looking for brooding dark fruit, eucalyptus, and pure pleasure in their red wine – look no further. This Cabernet Franc brings an intensity reminiscent of black cherry twizzler, menthol, cola, and blackberry panna cotta. Tannic yet easy drinking, this wine is fantastic with roasted chicken, venison, and rack of lamb.

Roast chicken with vincotto, charcuterie (especially paté and terrines), game meats (peking duck, roasted quail, pheasant), grilled lamb, venison, beef kofta, and shawarma are all delightful protein choices. Juan Jesús, who is a 4th generation winemaker, founded Viñátigo in 1990 and has worked tirelessly since then identifying, recuperating the native grapes of the Canary Islands.

Listán Negro is a grape that Viñátigo cultivates in the mid-lands, in the north-west of Tenerife. This grape is a native grape variety of the Canary Islands, as it originated from a natural crossing between the grapes Listán Blanco and Negramoll, both brought by Portuguese and Andalusian settlers between the 15th and 18th centuries.The grapes are hand-harvested by mid- September and the wine ages in old barrels for three months. It’s a delightful and juicy red, with aromas of black pepper, dark fruits, and a strong mineral, volcanic character.

It's the perfect 'chatting' wine: gather with friends and uncork this juicy beauty. A good conversation with friends and a charcuterie board is the best pairing. It matches very well with traditional cuisine from the Canaries: fried rabbit marinated in spicy 'mojo rojo' sauce; or beef stew with boiled potatoes.

Juicy & Salty

Cantine Barbera is located in Menfi, on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards, that are farmed following organic and biodynamic practices, are about one mile from the Mediterranean Sea: an uncontaminated deep blue sea. The low cliffs and sandy dunes create a beautiful environment for the grapes to thrive, and are also protected by the Belice River Natural Reservation Fund.

A fascinating Nero d’Avola with a spicy and lively saline character, this wine truly represents the intriguing Sicilian terroir where it is produced. The wine has a bright ruby red color with intense shades of violet; its bouquet shows scents of mulberries and raspberries with a touch of light spices. On the palate it is fragrant and full, with soft velvety tannins that shape a vibrant, Mediterranean personality.

A delicious expression of County sparkling wine. Fresh with buoyant acidity, this wine is made from our own Vidal grapes and has had a second fermentation using the Charmat method. True to Lighthall's style, this County Pinot Gris is both mineral driven and rich. Partially fermented in neutral French Oak with an Alsatian-sourced yeast strain, the classic notes of cantaloupe, pear, and nutmeg are all present. A waxy tone of salted apple-flambé and confit honeycomb bring a perception of sweetness to a delightfully bone-dry wine.

Chardonnay VQA Prince Edward County 2021.
As typically found in County Chardonnay, this wine starts with aromas of flinty minerality, Asian pear, and salted caramel. Robust & Savoury

Villa Calcinaia is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, near the village of Greve-in-Chianti. This Tuscan estate has been home to the Capponi family since 1524. It is now in the hands of 37th-generation Conte Sebastiano Capponi, who has managed the estate since 1992.

The ripe and perfectly healthy grapes from each block are long fermented and then aged separately for 20 months in French oak 500 liters tonneaux and Slavonian oak 30 hl casks. After the cuvee is made the wine ages for another 4/6 months before its bottling.

The colour of Villa Calcinaia’s Chianti Classico Riserva is rich ruby, whilst the bouquet is mature in its fruit, well blended with the oak. The taste of the wine is soft, velvety. The structure is solid and the wood well integrated. The aftertaste is spicy and persistent.

Villa Calcinaia’s Riserva is for important occasions, with rich meat dishes, or just as an added enjoyment during a conversation.

Hand selected from our favourite barrels of PEC grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this is a cool-climate red specifically crafted for character, depth, and aging potential. The result is a something greater than the sum of its parts. A mix of brambleberry, baking spices, vanilla, and cocoa jump from the glass while the intensity of the fruit, structure, and pure deliciousness will leave a lasting impression.

Cordero San Giorgio is a new beginning in Oltrépo-Pavese for three siblings who grew up surrounded by their family’s vines at the legendary Vietti Estate in Castiglione Falletto in Barolo. The siblings Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina Cordero, are grandchildren of Luciana Vietti & Alfredo Currado, one of the pioneers of the first Barolo crus and considered the “father of Arneis.” Their father is Mario Cordero, Alfredo and Luciana’s son-in-law, who was the company’s co-owner from the beginning of the ‘80s until 2016 when it was sold.

The Oltrepò Pavese is a hilly triangle of land in Lombardy, embraced by Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna. A territory dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the culture of wine for centuries: a land of both cultural and gastronomic encounter and exchange. Cordero San Giorgio is in the town of Santa Giuletta, and focuses on working with Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.

2 bottles x Cordero San Giorgio Katari Oltrepò Pavese DOC Pinot Grigio 2023. 

A fresh and balanced Pinot Grigio, which maintains the intrinsic finesse of the grape variety with a vibrant, well-balanced acidity. This Pinot Grigio is made from grapes grown in the localitá of Rocca de' Giorgi, at 400 meters above sea level, amidst valleys covered by forests, steep slopes and thick ridges.

Made in stainless steel, this outstanding Pinot Grigio has a pale straw yellow colour with green hues, on the nose, it is fresh floral with fruity aromas of pear, apple, and jasmine. A dry, medium-bodied white wine, with marked crispy acidity. On the palate, it is fresh, well balanced, with a pleasant lingering finish.

Ideal as an aperitif and in combination with fish appetizers and white meats, such as poultry. A good pairing for salads, light and pureed soups, and fish first courses.

2 bottles x Cordero San Giorgio APSÛ Oltrepò Pavese DOC Chardonnay 2022.

Made from selected plots located in Santa Giuletta and Roca de' Giorgi, this Chardonnay ferments in stainless steel tanks and sees no malolactic fermentation. As fermentation finishes, half of the wine is racked into wooden barrels, where it ages for about six months.

The wine opens up as fresh and fragrant, with a bouquet of citrus notes, tropical fruit and white flowers. It is vibrant with a pleasant acidity balanced by the savoury and mineral finish.

A Pinot Nero that is an expression of finesse. Elegant aromas and delicate on the palate. 

Full & Rich

The nose is full of plump ripe raspberry, blackberry and cherry with anise and slight cocoa notes. The perfume is elegant, bold and full of life. The palate, oh the palate, what can we say? The richness, and round big tannins have control and structure of the wine. The combination of red fruits, flavourful spices wrapped in velvet leather notes gives this wine a new meaning to Niagara Cabernet Franc.

Feel free to age this full-bodied beauty for the next 8-10 years. If you drink it now, try it with hard cheeses like a well aged Cheddar, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Pecorino Romano or with roasted red meat.

Fine & Elegant

Joan Ramón Escoda has been shaking the pillars of winemaking in his home-country and abroad since the 90's. He is an absolute anarchist, a radical winemaker, a rock'n'roller and a grass-roots innovator; and his wines are everything but banal.

Carmen is made with Cabernet Franc aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. 

Floral & Spicy

Joan Ramón Escoda has been shaking the pillars of winemaking in his home-country and abroad since the 90's. He is an absolute anarchist, a radical winemaker, a rock'n'roller and a grass-roots innovator; and his wines are everything but banal.

The main part of this wine is Cabernet Franc, a varitey which winemaker Joan Ramon Escoda daringly decided to complement it with a 20% of Parellada, a local white grape of great aromatic refinement. Harvested by hand and partially destemmed, the grapes were macerated and fermented together in clay amphorae using only indigenous yeasts. Then this natural red wine was aged for 7 months on lees in the amphorae.

Slightly raw and pleasantly wild, this wine could need some aeration to unfurl. Some earthy and mineral notes, evolving into a fleshy red fruit nuanced by flowers, herbs and spice. This blend of Cabernet Franc and Parellada is remarkably original. Delicately warm, but also full of energy and confidence. Some succulent red fruit, a note of cocoa and bitter herbs, and a first-rate acidity make for a very fresh no added sulphites wine. Gentler and more engaging than ever, this wine from Escoda-Sanahuja has a long finish with a mineral and pithy aftertaste.

Pair it with roasted red meats and cured cheeses.

Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Traditional Burgundian techniques and minimal handling has produced a Pinot Noir with an intense bouquet of cherries and plums. Flavours of earth and spice complement a rich silky palate with a purity of fruit and finely integrated tannin structure.
