Spiced & Round

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

This blended wine (61% Merlot, 39& Cabernet Franc) always over-delivers massively for the price. Blackberry, cassis, raspberry and mulberry instantly appear on the nose, with lilac, cracked white pepper, licorice and pancetta following closely behind. On the palate, the warmth and weight of the 2020 vintage is immediately evident, with a very broad and weighty mid-palate featuring plum, wild-blueberry, and strawberry layered over dark- chocolate and graphite with wisps of herbs-de-provence and black olive fading in and out.

The powerful but soft tannins make it satisfying to drink now with a good decant, but it will certainly age well over the next 5-8 years. Great with burgers, cured meat, and hard cheese.

Mineral & Vibrant

Juan Jesús, who is a 4th generation winemaker, founded Viñátigo in 1990 and has worked tirelessly since then identifying, recuperating the native grapes of the Canary Islands. Today, his son Jorge is slowly taking over the viticulture and winemaking of Viñátigo, and is focusing on crafting wines from exceptional micro-vineyards in the north-face of Tenerife. Before settling down in his home-island, Jorge worked alongside great international winemakers in Chile, Argentina and Burgundy.

An island within an island, Paraje La Peña is situated in the highlands of Icod de los Vinos, nestled in a narrow ravine formed by the volcanic eruptions of Mount Teide to the north over the last two thousand years.

For over thirty years, Viñátigo has cultivated this isolated vineyard, protected from the rest of the island by a dense, green pine forest. The vines, trained in parrales, cling to the volcanic walls of the ravine. This training method, a direct influence of the Portuguese settlers who established themselves in the northeastern part of Tenerife in the 16th century, serves as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage.

At about 450 meters above sea level and with direct exposure to the trade winds, this wine offers surprising freshness and acidity.

Pre-fermentative oxidation. Not controlled-temperature fermentation. Fermented and aged in amphora. All the whites age statically. No batonnage. Barely no racking at all.

Yellow fruit, plums and peach, and a gentle and polished palate with soft acidity and a bitter twist in the finish. This wine has tonnes of tahini, almond paste, smoked sea salt and pine. Tight on the nose explosive on palate with a slight burgundy feeling.

Thompson Steer winery was established in 1990 and is based in the Coonawarra region of the Limestone Coast. The winery itself is named after the meandering lakes and adjoining fields to the vineyards that neighbour the country town of Mundulla. The wines made under this brand reflect all that is unique to this wine growing location. 

A fruit-forward wine brimming with bold flavours of blackcurrant, dark plum, and cherry. Subtle nuances of toasted oak and bitter chocolate balance the richness of the fruit, while velvety tannins lend texture and depth, culminating in a full, rounded mouthfeel. Amidst its intensity, a delicate undercurrent of cedar lingers on the finish, adding a touch of elegance and lift to each sip.

Hardy's constructed the Stonehaven Winery in 1998 with the purpose of showcasing the distinct qualities of the Limestone Coast region in Southern Australia. Following Hardy's acquisition by Constellation and subsequent brand expansion, the winery fell into dormancy after being sold. In early 2021, C.W. Wines acquired both the Stonehaven winery and brand, subsequently reintroducing the Stonehaven label to the market. Now sporting a revitalized appearance and market strategy, Stonehaven aims to appeal to contemporary wine enthusiasts, offering a wine selection suitable for any occasion.

Sourced from 20-year-old estate vineyards, this Cab Sauv presents classic notes of black fruits and dark chocolate, with subtle hints of fragrant herbs and eucalyptus. The palate is smooth and approachable, thanks to careful winemaking and small-batch fermentation. Aged in 30% French oak, the wine takes on added structure and complexity, with delicate nuances of vanilla and spice.

His aim is to source great fruit and craft wines that reflect the nuances of the native varieties and the identity of the terroir and as a result, he produces a collection of authentic, elegant, and delicious wines. 

The “Dots family” consists of single-varietal wines from indigenous varieties; it is named this way after its illusional label of dots where one can find the name of the variety the wine is made from Exceptional terroirs, minimal intervention viticulture, and wine making with a unique goal: to express clearly and honestly each variety’s character.

After careful sorting and a short cold-soak, slow spontaneous fermentation takes place in tulip-shaped 31hl concrete tanks and a small portion in 5hl open top barrels. 5%-8% whole cluster. Blended right after fermentation, it is aged for 10 months on its fine lees in amphorae. Bottled unfiltered to retain its natural character and elegance.

Cherries and floral notes on the nose enveloped by spices and some mineral notes. On the palate, it is very fruity (cherries and strawberries), with fresh acidity and a very elegant and long finish.

Grapes are sourced from contract growers, mostly from mountainous sites of Heraklion, Crete. After their chilling at 5°C, the grapes are carefully sorted and pressed as whole clusters in a vertical press. Spontaneous fermentation takes place slowly in 4 different types of vessels, from 4 different elements: clay amphorae, concrete tanks, large barrels of 600L and stainless steel tanks, providing the wine with impressive complexity and depth.
Wine is aged for 6 to 9 months in amphorae and concrete tanks, with only a small percentage in the old large barrels, in order to preserve all of its purity of fruit and taste; after that, wine is bottled unfiltered to retain its purity and elegance.

Complex nose of citrus with hints of white flowers and herbs on a mineral shade. It is creamy and layered in the mouth with flavors of stone fruits, lime and spices. It’s lively acidity provides freshness to the wine and a persistent after taste.

Great match for fish, oysters, Asian cuisine, pasta, and a wide selection of cheeses.

He was so spellbound by the place that he bought a house there and, in 1988, planted a vineyard. The project grew, albeit slowly, but the arrival of Peter’s thoughtful and environmentally inspired grandson, Alexander Sichel, has turned the Domaine Peter Sichel project completely around.

Montanha is made from Grenache . The vines are cultivated between 300 and 400 meters above sea level on clay-limestone mountain slopes. After a short infusion of 2.5 days, the must is pressed and the wine finishes its fermentation in concrete vats .

Montanha, meaning "Mountain" in Occitan, is a refreshing infusion crafted from fresh mountain fruits. The wine presents a clear ruby hue, accompanied by a clean and expressive nose featuring notes of red fruits and wild strawberries. Its profile reveals a fine and elegant structure, making it a delightful experience for the senses.

"Petite France" is a single vineyard wine, crafted exclusively from 100% Carignan grapes. Nestled at a lofty 450m in clay-limestone mountain hills, this organically grown marvel is on its journey to full biodynamic certification, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture. The Schild Family have been grape growers in the Barossa Valley since 1952. Growing the estate from one vineyard to over 134ha across 11 precious sites, their generational wisdom and knowledge of the land allows for premium fruit to flourish each vintage. Their Estate Wine label was created as a small side project and quickly grew in reputation and is now loved worldwide. 

Named after Ed Schild’s grandson, Angus, and the Scottish word ‘Brae’ meaning
a steep hillside, this vineyard is located 4 km north of the Lyndoch Township.
This relatively young vineyard is managed to suit the soil profile and terroir
ensuring premium fruit is produced. The vineyard was purchased by the Schild
family in December 2001 on the day Angus Schild was born.

The wine opens with intense yet bright aromas of dark berry fruit, accompanied by a subtle, inviting creaminess and a touch of spice around the edges. On the palate, it offers a smooth, mouth-filling blend of layered plums, blackcurrant, and dark chocolate—hallmark flavours that have defined this wine across vintages—framed elegantly by fine tannins.

Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

This Selección de Parcelas was made with Chardonnay grapes grown in Malleco, in the appellation of Traiguén. Malleco is a land of wild forests, beautiful lakes, active volcanoes and abundant rain in southern Chilean. The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named Triángulo and Llaima) that give rise to this wine.

Aromatic and highly complex with notes of pear, apricot, nougat & acacia subtly underscored by whiffs of honeyed wax and sliced almonds & walnuts. The palate is deep and reveals elegant weight with a creamy texture. Abounding with flavours of golden apple, passion fruit, honey, hay and sweet spices, the body and density are harmoniously balanced by the acidity. This is fresh, lively and tense, with a long finish and great aging potential.

Winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron has a colourful winemaking background – learning his craft in unique destinations such as Cyprus, Bulgaria and Hungary before moving on to France, Spain and Italy. At the southerly point of Africa along the Cape South Coast, Elgin stands out as the coolest region for wine production. Situated 450 meters above sea level on the southern ridge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, lies Iona vineyards, surrounded by the UNESCO-certified Kogelberg Biosphere. Here, a unique microclimate is shaped by the close proximity to the freezing Atlantic Ocean and rapid altitude rise. Misty clouds shield the vineyards from intense sun exposure, filtering the sunlight to promote slow ripening. This results in grapes with perfect acidity, moderate alcohol, and beautifully developed flavours.

Floral & Spicy

Cantina Barbera is located in Menfi, on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards are about one mile from the Mediterranean Sea: an uncontaminated deep blue sea, facing South, where low cliffs and sandy dunes create a beautiful environment protected by the Belice River Natural Reservation Fund.

This wine is 100% Frappato, and while Menfi is located outside the historical area where Frappato is traditionally planted, it shares many fundamental characteristics with that terroir: southern exposure, outstanding saline soils lying on compact clays. FuoriZona is a mouthwatering wine with a light ruby
color, soft tannins, a distinct acidity and a graceful body. It smells of cherries, mint, violet and red roses, and has a mouth of pink pepper, blood orange and pomegranate.

A breakout star in the Etna DOC of Sicily, Tornatore has become one of the region's largest and most respected wineries. Established back in 1865, the estate continues to be run by the same family who have acted as the faithful custodians of the land for generations. Tending to high altitude vineyards on the north side of the active volcano, the conditions are ideal for indigenous grape varieties to thrive. The wines are distinctive bottlings which encapsulate the essence of Mount Etna and effortlessly reveal the unique characteristics that make the region one to watch.

Connoisseurs of Etna wines recognize Contrada Calderara as a top cru, known for its unique soil of black pumice and basalt from ancient lava flows. Covered with large heat-retaining stones, this area, aptly named Calderara (or caldron), releases stored heat during cool nights, allowing the grapes to capture the soil's minerality, resulting in transparent and vibrant wines.

Intense aromas of morello cherry, pomegranate, and wild blackberry meld with subtle hints of baked earth and scrubland undergrowth on the nose. Soft & Citrusy

RR81 stands for 'Regional Road 81' - the road The Farm sits on, and a main artery through wine country. The RR81 approach to winemaking is simply fermented grapes with nothing added. One-off wines sourced from some of the best single vineyards in Niagara. These wines are made in the barn at The Farm with minimal intervention (just a few bins and an old basket press). The result equals some of the best, and most unique, wines coming out of Niagara.

Naturally fermented, unfined and unfiltered. The grapes were handpicked on September 9th, and cold soaked with whole berries for five days before fermentation. Pressed into neutral French oak barrels, and aged on primary lees. Only 2 barrels made.

Soft and dreamy as midsummer twilight. Juicy nectarine, poached yellow plum, and a touch of crackling caramel. Subdued but deeply meaningful, like a poem you don't realize changed your life until a few days later.

The combination of red fruits, flavourful spices wrapped in velvet leather notes gives this wine a new meaning to Niagara Cabernet Franc.

One of Lighthall's most aromatic wines, this off-dry Riesling is bursting with kiwi, starfruit, nectarine, and a lovely bouquet of white flowers. The classic Jolly-Rancher and crisp green apple punch follows through on the palate with vivacious acidity. Pairs
excellently with spicy south-Asian cuisine, curries, and tacos.

With the little touch of residual sugar in the wine, it makes a great match for foods
with a bit of heat. Spicy curries, Guaitiao (Thai noodle soup), Shrimp with noodles,
or Chicken Masala with mango chutney for example. Leaner white fish like bass,
pickerel, red snapper served with a fresh salad of greens with citrus segments makes a

The “Geekiness” continues to rise in this wine. An experiment in lees aging, this riesling ages 22 months on all the lees collected from all the white wine fermentations since vintage 2014.   Reductive notes of flint and mineral frame all the beautiful stone fruit and classic Riesling notes.   It has a wonderfully rich and creamy texture balanced by a distinct freshness. It is practically immortal and should age beautifully for the next decade and well beyond.

Hand-picked and hand-sorted on September 15th, the grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed, and allowed to settle in tanks for several days prior to fermentation. The juice of Clone 96 was racked into barrels (2 puncheons; 2 barriques) for spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, then aged in barrel for 18 months. After skillfully selecting the best barrel combination to highlight the unique characteristics of the clone, the 2020 Clone 96 Chardonnay was allowed to naturally settle before being bottled in June 2022.

This wine has incredible depth on the nose the evolves slowly, keeping interest as it unfolds. Tropical fruits like pineapple and mango lead to toasted almond and a sprinkle of sea salt.The palate has a rich and creamy texture followed by a delightful saline quality, the perfect balance of richness and brightness. The wet stone/mineral base is wrapped with lime zest and lemon curd with backing flavours of vanilla, cardamom, and cinnamon.The finish just goes on and on showing why this is a truly outstanding example of Senchuk Vineyard!

Zesty & Mineral

The 2019 Riesling is the epitome of what makes bench Riesling great. The nose explodes with beautiful lemon-rind, lime-leaf, nectarine, nutmeg, and honeysuckle aromas. Those flavours continue on the palate while adding green apple, honeycomb, cumin, white lilac and the distinctive chalky minerality of the Twenty Mile Bench. There is unusual weight and texture here, with a mouth-filling sensation that is not very common in Riesling. As the wine sweeps across the palate towards the finish, a bright green leafiness and flinty/gravelly appear in waves, leading to an amazing, crunchy finish. The wine will age well for the next decade.

Rieslings are great to pair with spicy Indian and Asian cuisines and do excellently alongside duck, pork, bacon, shrimp and crab.
