Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Sourced from a single-hectare plot, this Riesling is immediately expressive, offering enticing aromas of lemon curd, lime sorbet, apple blossom, and grapefruit. The palate is focused and elegantly textured, with bright citrus and saline notes lifted by a beautifully structured, mouth-watering acidity. Off-dry in style, it finishes with lingering marmalade nuances that add depth and complexity.

A perfect pairing for spicy Thai dishes, Middle Eastern and Mexican cuisine. It's also a great match with salads, along with poultry and pork dishes.

This wine is all about the textures an flavours on the palate. From lemon the white peach, blossoms to apples, the acidity and and salivating texture deliver a wine of clarity, purity and length.  A silken touch is contrasted by the acidity then flavours of citrus and pomaceous fruit layer in. Ready to drink from day of purchase and will age well in your cellar too with best drinking from 2026 through 2033.
