Oenops was founded in 2015 by talented winemaker Nikos Karatzas, who produces a stunning range of distinctive wines from his newly established state-of-the-art winery. He sources indigenous and rare grape varieties grown on exceptional terroir focusing on cool-climate sites and old-vine plots, from carefully selected vineyards in Drama and Macedonia, which have been cultivated by ambitious winegrowers using an organic philosophy. 

Niko adopts a minimal intervention approach and vinifies plot by plot using stainless steel, concrete, oak barrels, and amphora. His aim is to source great fruit and craft wines that reflect the nuances of the native varieties and the identity of the terroir and as a result, he produces a collection of authentic, elegant, and delicious wines. 

The “Dots family” consists of single-varietal wines from indigenous varieties; it is named this way after its illusional label of dots where one can find the name of the variety the wine is made from Exceptional terroirs, minimal intervention viticulture, and wine making with a unique goal: to express clearly and honestly each variety’s character.

Grapes are sourced from contract growers, mostly from mountainous sites of Heraklion, Crete. After their chilling at 5°C, the grapes are carefully sorted and pressed as whole clusters in a vertical press. Spontaneous fermentation takes place slowly in 4 different types of vessels, from 4 different elements: clay amphorae, concrete tanks, large barrels of 600L and stainless steel tanks, providing the wine with impressive complexity and depth.
Wine is aged for 6 to 9 months in amphorae and concrete tanks, with only a small percentage in the old large barrels, in order to preserve all of its purity of fruit and taste; after that, wine is bottled unfiltered to retain its purity and elegance.

Complex nose of citrus with hints of white flowers and herbs on a mineral shade. It is creamy and layered in the mouth with flavors of stone fruits, lime and spices. It’s lively acidity provides freshness to the wine and a persistent after taste.

Great match for fish, oysters, Asian cuisine, pasta, and a wide selection of cheeses.

Peter Sichel (of the Bordeaux négociant family) first discovered the valley of Cucugnan on a road trip with a friend in the 1960s. He was so spellbound by the place that he bought a house there and, in 1988, planted a vineyard. The project grew, albeit slowly, but the arrival of Peter’s thoughtful and environmentally inspired grandson, Alexander Sichel, has turned the Domaine Peter Sichel project completely around.

Montanha is made from Grenache . The vines are cultivated between 300 and 400 meters above sea level on clay-limestone mountain slopes. After a short infusion of 2.5 days, the must is pressed and the wine finishes its fermentation in concrete vats .

Montanha, meaning "Mountain" in Occitan, is a refreshing infusion crafted from fresh mountain fruits. The wine presents a clear ruby hue, accompanied by a clean and expressive nose featuring notes of red fruits and wild strawberries. Its profile reveals a fine and elegant structure, making it a delightful experience for the senses.

Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

This Selección de Parcelas was made with Chardonnay grapes grown in Malleco, in the appellation of Traiguén. Malleco is a land of wild forests, beautiful lakes, active volcanoes and abundant rain in southern Chilean. The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named Triángulo and Llaima) that give rise to this wine.

Aromatic and highly complex with notes of pear, apricot, nougat & acacia subtly underscored by whiffs of honeyed wax and sliced almonds & walnuts. The palate is deep and reveals elegant weight with a creamy texture. Abounding with flavours of golden apple, passion fruit, honey, hay and sweet spices, the body and density are harmoniously balanced by the acidity. This is fresh, lively and tense, with a long finish and great aging potential.

Enhance the creamy texture of this wine by pairing along side seafood risotto or semi-soft, aged cheeses.

Winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron has a colourful winemaking background – learning his craft in unique destinations such as Cyprus, Bulgaria and Hungary before moving on to France, Spain and Italy. For him, the Invivo range is all about taking some of the elegance from the old world and putting that style into amazing grapes, all the while offering wines that are fun and a bit unique.

The nose of this Pinot Gris is vibrant, brimming with ripe pears and subtle hints of candied citrus. The palate follows suit with flavours of crunchy peach and apricot, complemented by delicate white floral notes and a soft, silky texture. This style offers an elegant drinkability, with a well-balanced profile that leads into a clean, crisp finish.

At the southerly point of Africa along the Cape South Coast, Elgin stands out as the coolest region for wine production. Situated 450 meters above sea level on the southern ridge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, lies Iona vineyards, surrounded by the UNESCO-certified Kogelberg Biosphere. Here, a unique microclimate is shaped by the close proximity to the freezing Atlantic Ocean and rapid altitude rise. Misty clouds shield the vineyards from intense sun exposure, filtering the sunlight to promote slow ripening. This results in grapes with perfect acidity, moderate alcohol, and beautifully developed flavours.

Iona's vineyards are meticulously tended by hand using organic and biodynamic methods, prioritizing soil health and integrated pest management. This philosophy extends to their cellar practices, where minimal intervention is required thanks to the exceptional quality of their fruit.

Stylish and Burgundian with bright citrus, white stone fruit, oyster shell minerality and a hint of brioche. The purity of fruit combined with well-judged oak and bright fresh acidity result in a wine that is layered and complex with a lingering finish.

A great match with seafood based dishes - serve alongside Sea Bass with Beurre Blanc or seared scallops. 

Floral & Spicy

Cantina Barbera is located in Menfi, on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards are about one mile from the Mediterranean Sea: an uncontaminated deep blue sea, facing South, where low cliffs and sandy dunes create a beautiful environment protected by the Belice River Natural Reservation Fund.

This wine is 100% Frappato, and while Menfi is located outside the historical area where Frappato is traditionally planted, it shares many fundamental characteristics with that terroir: southern exposure, outstanding saline soils lying on compact clays. FuoriZona is a mouthwatering wine with a light ruby
color, soft tannins, a distinct acidity and a graceful body. It smells of cherries, mint, violet and red roses, and has a mouth of pink pepper, blood orange and pomegranate.

Try FuoriZona with tuna, seafood soups, or couscous and grilled vegetables.

Hans Herzog embodies a unique narrative as a genuine vigneron solely responsible for both winemaking and viticulture across numerous grape varieties within his 11.5-hectare vineyard. Herzog's estate stands as a true artisanal winery, where a holistic approach to farming isn't just a concept but a way of life. The richness, and round big tannins have control and structure of the wine. The combination of red fruits, flavourful spices wrapped in velvet leather notes gives this wine a new meaning to Niagara Cabernet Franc.

Those looking for brooding dark fruit, eucalyptus, and pure pleasure in their red wine – look no further. This Cabernet Franc brings an intensity reminiscent of black cherry twizzler, menthol, cola, and blackberry panna cotta. Tannic yet easy drinking, this wine is fantastic with roasted chicken, venison, and rack of lamb.

Roast chicken with vincotto, charcuterie (especially paté and terrines), game meats (peking duck, roasted quail, pheasant), grilled lamb, venison, beef kofta, and shawarma are all delightful protein choices. One of Lighthall's most aromatic wines, this off-dry Riesling is bursting with kiwi, starfruit, nectarine, and a lovely bouquet of white flowers. The classic Jolly-Rancher and crisp green apple punch follows through on the palate with vivacious acidity. Pairs
excellently with spicy south-Asian cuisine, curries, and tacos.

With the little touch of residual sugar in the wine, it makes a great match for foods
with a bit of heat. Spicy curries, Guaitiao (Thai noodle soup), Shrimp with noodles,
or Chicken Masala with mango chutney for example. Leaner white fish like bass,
pickerel, red snapper served with a fresh salad of greens with citrus segments makes a

Spicy & Earthy

The depth of this wine was structured by the warm, but not hot summer and autumn. Leaning Post believes this is the best Gamay they have made to date! The terrior of Wismer-Armbrust Vineyard really shines through, with loads of garrigue, spice and leather, with intense blackberry, cherry and pepper on the nose. The mouth is complimentary showing mulberry, pomegranate, lilac, smoked sausage and fennel seed. The finish is fantastically long and smooth.

This Merlot is part of Leaning Post's 'Freaks & Geek' collection, their Natural Wines series. The Merlot Vin Nature 2018 is a truly deep and fascinating wine, it reminds us of walking through the pine and mossy dampness of a forest path by a lake in the Canadian Shield on a cool autumn evening, stopping to pick some wild-blueberries and noticing in the background a roaring fire.

The “Geekiness” continues to rise in this wine. An experiment in lees aging, this riesling ages 22 months on all the lees collected from all the white wine fermentations since vintage 2014.   Reductive notes of flint and mineral frame all the beautiful stone fruit and classic Riesling notes.   It has a wonderfully rich and creamy texture balanced by a distinct freshness. It is practically immortal and should age beautifully for the next decade and well beyond.

Creamy & Mineral

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

Hand-picked and hand-sorted on September 15th, the grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed, and allowed to settle in tanks for several days prior to fermentation. The juice of Clone 96 was racked into barrels (2 puncheons; 2 barriques) for spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, then aged in barrel for 18 months. After skillfully selecting the best barrel combination to highlight the unique characteristics of the clone, the 2020 Clone 96 Chardonnay was allowed to naturally settle before being bottled in June 2022.

This wine has incredible depth on the nose the evolves slowly, keeping interest as it unfolds. Tropical fruits like pineapple and mango lead to toasted almond and a sprinkle of sea salt.The palate has a rich and creamy texture followed by a delightful saline quality, the perfect balance of richness and brightness. The wet stone/mineral base is wrapped with lime zest and lemon curd with backing flavours of vanilla, cardamom, and cinnamon.The finish just goes on and on showing why this is a truly outstanding example of Senchuk Vineyard!

Zesty & Mineral

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara. 

The long and steady growing season of 2021 was truly ideal for Riesling, allowing the grapes to fully develop flavour while still maintaining exceptional acidity. Hand-picked and hand-sorted on October 17th, the grapes were picked at their ideal time. The Riesling was gently whole-cluster pressed, and juice was naturally settled. A long, slow, and cool fermentation took place at 12 oC in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine was aged on yeast lees in stainless steel tank for 9 months.

Rieslings are great to pair with spicy Indian and Asian cuisines and do excellently alongside duck, pork, bacon, shrimp and crab.
