Sister’s Run is serious fun and serious wine. The talented, young winemaker Elena Brooks (of Dandelion Vineyards and Heirloom Vineyards fame) wears steel cap work boots every day of course, but carries a pair of high heels in back of the ute for emergencies - like last minute invitations to accept trophies at gala wine show dinners and the like!

Notes of black cherries dipped in milk chocolate kick things off on the nose followed by hints of violet florals and sweet clove spices from tempered oak. An underlying herbal streak underscores the sweet aromatics, adding a savoury, almost minty edge beneath the fruit. Smooth tannins provide a rounded grip on the palate and are wrapped up by flavours of warm stewed plums with a touch of Pastis. Hallmark notes of cracked black pepper cascade into the rich finish. The balance between ripe fruit and tannin, along with underlying acidity, makes this big red incredibly drinkable.

Serve this with ease alongside an eggplant laksa or peppered chicken grilled on the barbecue. Don't be afraid to cellar some of this wine too - There's reward ahead.

The Winery of Good Hope is more than just a winery - it's an approach. Wines are made in the prestigious wine-making region of Stellenbosch, in South Africa’s Cape of Good Hope. 

Grown in the Helderberg area on decomposed granite soils, these bush vine grapes benefit from cooling ocean breezes that temper the region’s warm climate. Harvested at different stages of ripeness, they help build vibrant acidity and layered fruit complexity in the wine. The result is a beautifully fresh and expressive, dry Chenin Blanc, brimming with aromas of green apple and white peach. Juicy and intense on the palate, it showcases remarkable depth of fruit and a long, lingering finish. 

With its bright character and refreshing persistence, this wine is a perfect companion for warm summer days and balmy evenings.

Mas Carlot is situated in Costières de Nîmes, a beautiful pebbly land around Nîmes and Arles in the Southern Rhône, and makes some of the very best value wines in the whole of France. This blend of 60% Roussanne, 30% Marsanne and 10% Viognier is outstanding.

An elegant white that offers up notes of peach marmalade, apricots, honeyed pears, candle wax and a touch of buttered brioche. With a good fresh acidity as well as abundant fruit and flavour, this attractive, medium-bodied wine overdelivers.

Pair this rich white well with shellfish, chicken, veal, pork and vegetables prepared with savoury butter, cream or mild cheese-based sauces.
