Founded in 2005, Domaine de Bellene focuses on crafting wines from old vines with a commitment to sustainable, organic farming. Winemaker and proprietor Nicolas Potel's approach emphasizes producing wines that authentically reflect their origins and vintages, while preserving the land and culture for future generations. Under his leadership, Domaine de Bellene has earned respect among Burgundy enthusiasts, offering wines from both renowned and lesser-known appellations.

In its fifth year of cultivation, this vineyard, planted in 1966, thrives on clay-limestone soil with a gentle slope and southern exposure. Previously maintained chemically, the soil is now carefully worked by horse to restore essential microbial life that supports the vine. Offering enticing aromas of lime peel, tropical fruit, crushed rocks, spice, and hazelnut. The palate reveals a bright yet seductive balance, with flavours of white peach, pineapple, and citrus. A subtle honeyed note and oatmeal-like lees impart a slightly evolved, granular texture, adding depth to the wine's impressive length.

93 Points - David Lawrason

This leesy whopper shows a big, creamy, almost oatmeal/bready nose, rice pudding and maple, quite yeasty. Not everyone's cuppa flavour-wise. It is full bodied, very rich and broad but also holds an amazing seam of acidity and minerality. As if it is going to balloon on the palate but instead runs down an iron rail. Great presence, excellent to outstanding length.
