Christine Aubert, alongside her son Aurélien, has owned Domaine Autrand in the charming village of Vinsobres, Drôme Provençale, since 2002. As the third generation to manage the family business, Christine took over the property and was joined by her eldest son in 2008. The majority of the vineyard was planted after the olive tree frost of 1956, when the Autrand family decided to restructure their farm. Today, the vineyard has an average age of around 45 years, reflecting the long history and dedication of the Aubert family.

Starting things off with captivating aromas of liquorice, black currant and blackberries underscored by sweet & savoury spices on the nose. The flavours of rich black fruits continue to unfold on the palate, bolstered by firm tannins. The wine's complexity, roundness and texture are beautifully balanced, giving way to a persistent finish that basks in its seemingly effortless fusion of power and fullness.

Try this bold red with game dishes like braised wild boar shanks or roast venison cooked with berries to compliment this style's robust characteristics.

93 Points - Joe Czerwinski

The tank-matured 2022 Vinsobres is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. It looks like an overachiever at this stage, with bold cherries and raspberries on the nose, even a hint of stone fruit. Full-bodied, round and expansive, with a creamy-textured mid-palate, it moves seamlessly into a long, concentrated and tannic finish.
