Robert, whose family is originally from Hungary, was born in Canada and grew up on a farm. After some years working as an architect, he found his passion in winemaking, and relocated to his grandparent's country to start a winery.

This Mixed case includes 1 bottle of each wine.

Gilvesy Bohem Balatoni Cuvée 2022. This blend of Olaszrizling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc is light and fresh. On the nose, it's all about hints of mint, lemon and fresh cucumber, while on the palate it's zesty, with notes of green apple and citrus fruit.

It's delicious when paired with summer meals: fresh salads dressed with dried fruits such as cranberries and walnuts, grilled fish with potatoes and zesty ceviches.

Gilvesy Sauvignon Blanc 2024. This is what Sauvignon Blanc from the volcanic soils of Szent György Hill can do when fermented in steel tanks and aged on fine lees. It is a perfect and classic cool climate example of Sauvignon Blanc with very gentle notes of fresh grass and green peppers, accompanied by savoury herbed aromas. The palate is bright and crisp with ripe citrus - lemon and lime.

Pair this Sauvignon Blanc with light salads and fish dishes.

Gilvesy Rajnai Rizling 2024. This Rajnai Riesling comes from a 45 years old vineyards in the outskirts of Mount Saint George in Hungary. This variety has found an excellent partner in this area, which conveys its elegant and volcanic traits perfectly. The wine is partially fermented in stainless steel tanks, which helps to maintain a vibrant acidity; and in big and neutral Hungarian barrels, which gives a special creaminess to the wine.

On the nose, the oak is very well integrated into a range of aromas that goes from a very lively lemon and lime to orchard fruits notes. On the palate, it is beautifully round, with weight but with a zippy acidity and reminiscences of citrus pith.

A great pairing for spicy dishes. Strong Indian and Asian spices are a perfect match with Riesling because of its delicate sweetness and vibrant acidity.

Gilvesy George Cuvée 2022. A blend of organically grown Riesling, Olaszrizling and Furmint, three varieties that have existed in the wine region for a long time. In style, it's a rich, flavoursome wine with explosive aromatics. This is what a classic Mount Saint George wine is like: modern and spiced up with volcanic notes.

It's delicious when paired with summer meals: fresh salads dressed with dried fruits such as cranberries and walnuts, grilled fish with potatoes and zesty ceviches.

PIXU Olaszrizling 2022. Gilvesy Pixu is a new direction in the life of the winery, but it is also part of a very organic process. In recent years, natural wines have gained more and more ground in the wine world, and Robert finds this style very exciting, yet divisive: he tasted a lot, experimented, read on the subject. He wanted to experiment in this direction since 2019, but it was important that these wines also find their place in the clean, familiar and polished world of the Gilvesy Estate. By now, the concept has matured and the experience gained has been embodied in the PIXU series.

This year, Furmint, Rhine Riesling and Italian Riesling will be launched. "Each batch is characterized by gentle processing, fermentation with low and zero sulfur, unfiltered, unclear batches. Exciting wines with full texture and showing the fruitiness of the original must. These are the faces of Gilvesy Estate and St. George's Hill!"

Váradi Vineyard Furmint 2021. Furmint is the historic grape of the region and this example shows its true strength. Alongside the white-fleshed fruit, the palate is also led by the intense spiciness and exciting flavours that come from the stony soil of the Váradi vineyard, and the Kádár barrels that were used for ageing it in. It has a complex character and long aging potential. A mineral wine with rich flavours and fresh acidity.

Furmint complements herb-crusted poultry or fish. You can also try it with delicate Asian dishes like sushi or dumplings.
