A vibrant, complex nose opens with floral, stone fruit and berry aromas - rose petal, violet, pomegranate, plum cherry, raspberry, black currant, boysenberry - that deepen with spice and wood notes - cinnamon, white pepper, thyme, vanilla, cedar, sandalwood, chocolate. Gentle oak aging adds definition supporting a delicious, harmonious balance between tannin, acid and fruit.

Fresne-Ducret is rich in family history and has been rooted in the premier cru village of Villedommange since the mid 1800s. Originally growing grapes for the big champagne houses, it wasn’t until the end of the second world war that the family decided to make their own wine. The tradition carries on today with Pierre Fresne and his wife Daniella (an Oakville ex-pat). Their philosophy is to produce wines that best exemplify the terroir of Villedommange, and they do this with sustainability in mind.

The New Explorers is an initiatory journey through the Premier Cru lands of Champagne Fresne Ducret. It is an invitation to meet those who have forged the image of the family house. Produced mainly from Pinot Meunier, which was once the only grape variety in Villedommange, this vintage first reveals the freshness of its yellow apple aromas before lifting the veil on more complex notes of honeyed toast and raspberry. The bubbles are fine and persistent but the true highlight of this wine comes from its thirst-quenching acidity.

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

Winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron has a colourful winemaking background – learning his craft in unique destinations such as Cyprus, Bulgaria and Hungary before moving on to France, Spain and Italy. For him, the Invivo range is all about taking some of the elegance from the old world and putting that style into amazing grapes, all the while offering wines that are fun and a bit unique.

Packed with ripe melons, guava and punchy limes, these aromas are electric in the glass, leading to a wave of tropical fruit filling the palate. This powerful wine has a generous drive of lime-infused acidity through the sweet, fruited mouth-feel and a lengthy finish that is perfectly refreshing, showing great phenolic tang that emphasizes the superbe balance between the fruit and acids. Classic and punchy in style, this is a stellar example of what New Zealand can do with this grape.

The N°7 Blanc de Blancs exhibits impressive maturity and complexity on the nose, with a rich autolytic character emerging in the glass. It boasts a remarkable balance of sweetness and acidity, featuring a soft palate where persistent effervescence enhances its creamy texture. Along with secondary notes of custard and toasted nuts, there are abundant citrus and orchard fruit flavours that bring out the youthfulness still very present in the wine. Established in 1930, Domaine Tour Saint Michel has remained a cherished family property since the very beginning. Founded by Michel Fabre, who acquired the original vines still in use today, the legacy was passed to his son, Henri. Together with his wife, Eliane, they cultivated and expanded the estate over the years. Presently, the Domaine encompasses 44 hectares, including 30 hectares in the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Since 2007, Mireille has overseen the vineyards, honouring familial traditions while embracing a modern approach. She is joined by her daughter, Magali, in upholding the tradition of excellence into the future.

Made from select lieux-dits, this Châteauneuf projects aromas of rich black cherries and preserves with subtle hints of dried tea leaves and savoury accents. Full-bodied and structured, it showcases ripe tannins and mature fruit flavours seamlessly integrated with whiffs of cracked pepper and traces of garrigue. Adding depth to the wine's classic charm is a lingering impression of licorice on the finish.

The Schild Family have been grape growers in the Barossa Valley since 1952. Growing the estate from one vineyard to over 134ha across 11 precious sites, their generational wisdom and knowledge of the land allows for premium fruit to flourish each vintage. Their Estate Wine label was created as a small side project and quickly grew in reputation and is now loved worldwide. 

Named after Ed Schild’s grandson, Angus, and the Scottish word ‘Brae’ meaning
a steep hillside, this vineyard is located 4 km north of the Lyndoch Township.
This relatively young vineyard is managed to suit the soil profile and terroir
ensuring premium fruit is produced. The vineyard was purchased by the Schild
family in December 2001 on the day Angus Schild was born.

The wine opens with intense yet bright aromas of dark berry fruit, accompanied by a subtle, inviting creaminess and a touch of spice around the edges. On the palate, it offers a smooth, mouth-filling blend of layered plums, blackcurrant, and dark chocolate—hallmark flavours that have defined this wine across vintages—framed elegantly by fine tannins.

Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

This Selección de Parcelas was made with Chardonnay grapes grown in Malleco, in the appellation of Traiguén. Malleco is a land of wild forests, beautiful lakes, active volcanoes and abundant rain in southern Chilean. The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named Triángulo and Llaima) that give rise to this wine.

Aromatic and highly complex with notes of pear, apricot, nougat & acacia subtly underscored by whiffs of honeyed wax and sliced almonds & walnuts. The palate is deep and reveals elegant weight with a creamy texture. Abounding with flavours of golden apple, passion fruit, honey, hay and sweet spices, the body and density are harmoniously balanced by the acidity. This is fresh, lively and tense, with a long finish and great aging potential.

The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Sister’s Run is serious fun and serious wine. The talented, young winemaker Elena Brooks (of Dandelion Vineyards and Heirloom Vineyards fame) wears steel cap work boots every day of course, but carries a pair of high heels in back of the ute for emergencies - like last minute invitations to accept trophies at gala wine show dinners and the like! 

The Old Testament vineyard is located in the heart of the Coonawarra. The resulting wine produced suggests ripe mulberry and blueberry aromatics with gentle notes of  shaved pencil and menthol on the nose. Soft red berry fruits begin to unfold on the palate, finishing with a spiced-liqueur like quality, carried by velvety tannins and perfectly judged acidity.

Established back in 1865, the estate continues to be run by the same family who have acted as the faithful custodians of the land for generations. Tending to high altitude vineyards on the north side of the active volcano, the conditions are ideal for indigenous grape varieties to thrive. The wines are distinctive bottlings which encapsulate the essence of Mount Etna and effortlessly reveal the unique characteristics that make the region one to watch.

Connoisseurs of Etna wines recognize Contrada Calderara as a top cru, known for its unique soil of black pumice and basalt from ancient lava flows. Covered with large heat-retaining stones, this area, aptly named Calderara (or caldron), releases stored heat during cool nights, allowing the grapes to capture the soil's minerality, resulting in transparent and vibrant wines.

Intense aromas of morello cherry, pomegranate, and wild blackberry meld with subtle hints of baked earth and scrubland undergrowth on the nose. Réva winery focuses on producing wines of excellence with extreme attention to the particular characteristics of each grape variety and the utmost respect for diversity. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and the estate is run by a group of young professionals who value both tradition and innovation.

The Lazzarito cru extends in the exact half of the long strip of land drawn by the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. Soils are characterized by the Arenarie di Diano, composed of marl, sand and a high content of limestone. This gives Barolos of fine colour that are full and round with incredible structure and texture. Cultivated from a single hectare plot and made from 100% Nebbiolo (Clone Lampia), the 2016 was aged for 36 months in large Austrian oak barrels, followed by further aging in bottle for and additional 24 months. 

This Riserva boasts a bouquet rich in fruity aromas of cherry, blackberry, and rhubarb, with hints of balsamic and herbal mint-laced nuances. On the palate, it showcases the power of this renowned cru, featuring a robust yet balanced structure. Refined acidity highlights the fruit and savoury character, while finely-grained, velvety tannins add texture and temper its ripe concentration. Proudly family owned, the Borthwick vineyard is an established vineyard situated in Gladstone, the heart of the Wairarapa. Producing quality wine for over a decade, Paddy, an experienced wine maker, has gained a reputation for producing consistently great wines. The twenty seven hectares of vines bordering the Ruamahunga River are growing on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Traditional Burgundian techniques and minimal handling has produced a Pinot Noir with an intense bouquet of cherries and plums. Flavours of earth and spice complement a rich silky palate with a purity of fruit and finely integrated tannin structure.
