The talented, young winemaker Elena Brooks (of Dandelion Vineyards and Heirloom Vineyards fame) wears steel cap work boots every day of course, but carries a pair of high heels in back of the ute for emergencies - like last minute invitations to accept trophies at gala wine show dinners and the like!

Notes of black cherries dipped in milk chocolate kick things off on the nose followed by hints of violet florals and sweet clove spices from tempered oak. An underlying herbal streak underscores the sweet aromatics, adding a savoury, almost minty edge beneath the fruit. Smooth tannins provide a rounded grip on the palate and are wrapped up by flavours of warm stewed plums with a touch of Pastis. Hallmark notes of cracked black pepper cascade into the rich finish. The balance between ripe fruit and tannin, along with underlying acidity, makes this big red incredibly drinkable.

Serve this with ease alongside an eggplant laksa or peppered chicken grilled on the barbecue. Don't be afraid to cellar some of this wine too - There's reward ahead.

Built in the 15th century, the Château de la Grange "Barbastre" belonged to the Basbastre family, Lord of the Grange, until the end of the 16th century. The property passed to the de Goulaine family in 1777. Thanks to the estate's closeness to the Lac de Grand Lieu and the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, it enjoys a micro-climate which is unique to the Côtes de Grandlieu area and offers good growing conditions for Melon B., the Muscadet grape

Planted on slopes facing southeast, this Muscadet Côtes de Grand Lieu sur Lie is produced from the old vines of the estate (more than 40 years old). The nose is elegant with hints of white flowers, lemon zest, ginger and salty minerality. Left on the lees (sur lie) for an extended period of time to develop a beautiful creamy texture balanced out by bracing acidity. 

Muscadet Sur Lie is an exquisite pairing with oysters or any other type of shellfish. A true classic pairing would be 'moules frites' - mussels tossed in shallots, white wine and herbs with a side of french fries!

Domaine Charly Nicolle was created with less than one hectare in 1979 by Robert Nicolle and Josette Laroche, who can both trace their winemaking heritage in Fleys back to the late 19th century. Since the creation of the Domaine, they have increased the size of their vineyards bit by bit, and today the Domaine produces wine from 20 hectares of vines. In 1999, they were joined by their son Charly, who had just graduated from the lycée viticole. Charly is now officially in charge of the Domaine, together with his wife Lucie, but Robert is still out in the vines nearly every day. The largest holdings of the Domaine are in AOC Chablis, located mostly around the family's beloved village of Fleys.

This name also symbolizes the transformation of daily efforts into extraordinary pleasures. Sourced from parcels on the right bank of the Serein River in the heart of Chablis, the Per Aspera stands out for its remarkable balance and artisanal character.

Winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron has a colourful winemaking background – learning his craft in unique destinations such as Cyprus, Bulgaria and Hungary before moving on to France, Spain and Italy. For him, the Invivo range is all about taking some of the elegance from the old world and putting that style into amazing grapes, all the while offering wines that are fun and a bit unique.

Packed with ripe melons, guava and punchy limes, these aromas are electric in the glass, leading to a wave of tropical fruit filling the palate. This powerful wine has a generous drive of lime-infused acidity through the sweet, fruited mouth-feel and a lengthy finish that is perfectly refreshing, showing great phenolic tang that emphasizes the superbe balance between the fruit and acids. Classic and punchy in style, this is a stellar example of what New Zealand can do with this grape.

The Winery of Good Hope is more than just a winery - it's an approach. Raised amidst the vineyards, Alexandre Favier is part of a long line of winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. His grandfather, Noël Sabon, hails from one of the region’s most renowned winemaking families. Alexandre began his viticultural studies at the age of fifteen in Orange, completing his exams by 2001. Just a year later, at the age of twenty, he assumed full winemaking responsibilities at Domaine Chante Cigale when his father’s health declined. Today, Domaine Chante Cigale stands as one of the most important family estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Vinified and aged in an ovoid concrete vat, this wine is sourced from an exceptional terroir. A classic blend of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, it opens with a pure, mineral nose, marked by a saline quality and layered with aromas of white-fleshed peaches and stone fruits. The Tomich family hails from the Adriatic Coast in Croatia where winemaking is a way of life. Jack Tomich Senior arrived in Australia in 1903, bringing with him all of the grape growing and winemaking skills of his forefathers. The family had always made their own wine for the family and grew sultanas and wine grapes after moving to the new irrigation settlement of Mildura in 1936. Jack’s son Ivan showed a real passion for wine, and by 1946 was producing and selling to local farmers. Three generations of grape growers and winemakers later, the Tomich family now owns one of the best sites in the Adelaide Hills and has kept its ancestral way of softly farming the land while advocating for regenerative growing practices.

The Tomich Hill Regional Series is made from estate-grown fruit sourced from high-altitude, cool-climate vineyards. This Pinot showcases intense aromas of dark berries and red cherries, with warm spices unfolding on the palate. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a subtle gaminess, which enhances the depth of its ripe fruit flavours.

The Piantini family's journey began in Chiusa di Pesio, Italy, where their ancestors left their wine-producing heritage to seek new opportunities in Mendoza, Argentina. Several generations later, the family acquired vineyards in the Cachapoal Valley from the founders of Winery Lagar de Bezana. In 2017, under the new ownership, the winery underwent a transformation, modernizing its processes and facilities, and was rebranded as Lagar de Codegua Terroir. This rebranding reflects a renewed vision and commitment to crafting premium-quality wines aimed at new markets and consumers in Chile and beyond

Situated at the base of the Andes Mountains, this Cabernet benefits from a unique terroir, where clear skies, cool nights, and gravelly soils contribute to its deep colour, refined tannins, and vibrant fruit expression. Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

The 2022 vintage delivered another year of excellent ripeness and high-quality grapes. Lively and expressive, this wine opens with bright aromas of citrus—lemon and grapefruit—alongside delicate notes of pear and crisp apple. Matías Riccitelli, born in the charming village of Cafayate, Salta, Argentina, where wine is deeply woven into the culture, embarked on a journey as a winemaker after training at one of the country’s most renowned wineries. A passionate traveler and dreamer, Matías honed his craft through global harvests, gaining invaluable experience along the way. In 2009, combining his extensive knowledge with the guidance of his father and mentor, Jorge Riccitelli, he founded Riccitelli Wines. Located in Las Compuertas, at 1,100 meters above sea level in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, the winery embodies Matías' vision of crafting exceptional wines from Argentina’s high-altitude terroirs.

Riccitelli & Father was born from the collaboration between Matías and his father, Jorge Riccitelli, with the shared vision of elevating Malbec from old vineyards in traditional regions, while harnessing the unique intensity that Cabernet Franc develops in their mountain soils.

In the 17th century, Michel Muré planted his vineyard in Rouffach, unknowingly beginning a legacy that would span generations. In 1935, Alfred Muré expanded the property with the acquisition of the 12-hectare Clos Saint Landelin, recognizing its potential for exceptional quality. He carefully replanted the terraces, benefiting from their perfect exposure and natural shelter. Today, Alfred’s grandson René, along with his children Véronique and Thomas, the 11th and 12th generations of the family, continue to manage this remarkable estate and its surrounding terroirs, now employing biodynamic methods to preserve its legacy.

Located in Rouffach, the Clos Saint Landelin, fully owned by the Muré family, covers an area of 12 hectares. It marks the southern end of the Grand Cru Vorbourg. Located at the exit of the valley, it is exposed to the south and benefits from a good amount of sunshine until late in the afternoon. The north and west winds ensure that the vines remain healthy until harvest time.

This wine evokes notes of ripe peaches and yellow apricots, underscored by a faint smokey minerality. The palate reveals delicate notes of toasted almonds and spice flavours alongside the stone fruits, with poised acidity that cuts through the lightly creamy texture and carries fruity freshness into the finish. 

This Pinot Gris is the ideal companion for poultry, truffles or hard cheese.

Welcome to the intimate world of Quevedo, a small, family-owned winery where quality is a treasured tradition. The Quevedo family's viticultural heritage spans over five generations, beginning with Abel Gouveia Costa, who planted the first vines in 1889. Through the years, the family diligently expanded their vineyards, culminating in the 1970s when Oscar and Beatriz Quevedo modernized their facilities and established the Quevedo winery in 1993. Today, Quevedo oversees 100 hectares of vineyards and 25 hectares of organic olive groves, with current proprietors Cláudia and Oscar Quevedo Jr. continuing the legacy of crafting exceptional wines.

A very limited quantity was produced with the best grapes of the 2018 harvest. Bottled 2 years after the harvest. 

This vintage dated Port boasts a rich and expressive nose, with heady aromas of blueberry, cherry, and plum, complemented by hints of cacao and wildflowers. The palate is densely packed, leaning towards a drier, more structured style, showcasing elegance and balance. Its profile highlights complex layers of coffee beans and dried liquorice, with with fine, round tannins supporting its brambly fruit. A long, persistent finish reveals lasting notes of dark chocolate.

The Cortonesi family has been a cornerstone of the Montalcino region for decades. Established in the 1970s, their estate spans 138 acres in one of the area's most storied regions, with 19 acres dedicated to producing world-class Brunello. The family began commercially selling their wine in 1985, and today, third-generation winemaker Tommaso Cortonesi continues the tradition. Tommaso combines his long-standing family traditions with modern technologies to craft some of the finest expressions of Tuscan Sangiovese. 

Poggiarelli is a Grand Cru single vineyard of a little less than 5 acres located on the south-eastern side of Montalcino. This vibrant and well-structured wine offers bold aromas of cherry, leather, and earthy minerals, with a hint of balsam herbs. The palate shows a meaty richness, all the while remaining refined and balanced. Warm, building tannins support the concentrated fruit, leading to a long and lovely finish. This wine has a lot to offer as it matures and will be a great addition to any cellar. 

With its complex and structured character, Brunello is always a solid accompaniment to cooked meats and firm cheeses.

Stéphane Aviron can be considered a pioneer is his approach to winemaking in Beaujolais, however he would just tell you that he’s simply returning to the traditional practices that have always made fantastic Gamay wines. Sustainable viticulture, extremely old vines and classic Burgundian techniques.

Aviron sources his Juliénas from the areas of “Vayolette” and “La Prat” from two well-established growers in the appellation. The soils in these parcels are granite with clay and limestone with old vines ranging in age from 45 to 55 years old. This wine has complex herbal, red cherry and wild strawberry aromas.

The flavours are ripe and concentrated with structure. The wine has a packed character that speaks of firm but still soft tannins that will help the wine age for years.

Thompson Steer winery was established in 1990 and is based in the Coonawarra region of the Limestone Coast. The winery itself is named after the meandering lakes and adjoining fields to the vineyards that neighbour the country town of Mundulla. Hardy's constructed the Stonehaven Winery in 1998 with the purpose of showcasing the distinct qualities of the Limestone Coast region in Southern Australia. Following Hardy's acquisition by Constellation and subsequent brand expansion, the winery fell into dormancy after being sold. In early 2021, C.W. Wines acquired both the Stonehaven winery and brand, subsequently reintroducing the Stonehaven label to the market. Francisco Baettig and Carlos de Carlos cut their teeth in the wine industry as part of the well known Errázuriz operation, where they worked together for many years. Inspired by their mutual love of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the talented enologist and savvy businessman branched out to create Vinos Baettig. Produced in small batches and sold as limited editions to selected buyers, their wines have swiftly become some of the most interesting & highly lauded among the emerging talents of Chile.

This Selección de Parcelas was made with Chardonnay grapes grown in Malleco, in the appellation of Traiguén. Malleco is a land of wild forests, beautiful lakes, active volcanoes and abundant rain in southern Chilean. The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named Triángulo and Llaima) that give rise to this wine.

Aromatic and highly complex with notes of pear, apricot, nougat & acacia subtly underscored by whiffs of honeyed wax and sliced almonds & walnuts. The palate is deep and reveals elegant weight with a creamy texture. Abounding with flavours of golden apple, passion fruit, honey, hay and sweet spices, the body and density are harmoniously balanced by the acidity. This is fresh, lively and tense, with a long finish and great aging potential.

Winemaker and co-founder Rob Cameron has a colourful winemaking background – learning his craft in unique destinations such as Cyprus, Bulgaria and Hungary before moving on to France, Spain and Italy. For him, the Invivo range is all about taking some of the elegance from the old world and putting that style into amazing grapes, all the while offering wines that are fun and a bit unique.

At the southerly point of Africa along the Cape South Coast, Elgin stands out as the coolest region for wine production. Situated 450 meters above sea level on the southern ridge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, lies Iona vineyards, surrounded by the UNESCO-certified Kogelberg Biosphere. Here, a unique microclimate is shaped by the close proximity to the freezing Atlantic Ocean and rapid altitude rise. Misty clouds shield the vineyards from intense sun exposure, filtering the sunlight to promote slow ripening. This results in grapes with perfect acidity, moderate alcohol, and beautifully developed flavours.
