Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

From a .75 ha parcel of land within Nuit-Saint-Georges, this wine's fruit comes from vines aged between 40-54 years, growing upon beds of limestone clay-rich soils. Aromatically, it offers notes of crushed rose petals, violets, tart dark berry fruits, and traces of vanilla. On the palate, it's refreshing with fine-grain tannins that offer a slight blooming sensation leading to a fine and elegant finish.

A wine as classic as this will be a wonderful partner to a dish like beef wellington.

Offers black cherry, blackberry, iron and earth flavors. Firm, dense tannins provide support. The acidity is lively and drives the long finish. Should come together in a year or two. Best from 2021 through 2032.
