Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

An attractive nose showing lifted notes of sweet berry fruits and tart cherries along with toasted spices dusted over top lightly seared hazelnuts. The lively acidity injects a feeling of vigour to the palate, extending the flavours of crunchy black fruits and dried tea leaf florals. Satiny tannins round out the palate lending softness to the weight and texture, revealing a wine that is both vivid and elegant.

Chambertin wine pairs beautifully with poultry dishes such as roast chicken and quail, as well as with Epoisses or Gruyere cheeses.

92 Points - Sara d'Amato

Delicately spiced, salty, and generously perfumed with blossom, jasmine, juniper and dried floral. Elegant and polished with delicate and well-integrated wood spice that elevates the fruit. Flavours emerge on the palate of cardamom, licorice, bayberry, laurel and tilled earth. The lacy tannins give the an ethereal mouthfeel and lively acids that are beginning to sour provide tension and poise. A slight bit of oxidation signals early maturity. Excellent length.
