The origin of Château Lamartine goes back to 1883, when Lise and Benjamin’s great grand father acquired a piece of land and started to farm grapes and sell wine in barrels. The winery holds the 'Haute Valeur Environnementale' certificate in sustainability, and are right now in their third year of organic conversion.
The Cahors AOP is right in between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean sea. We could say that it’s the heart of the South West. Due to its geographic situation, the appellation has a particular microclimate, which is perfect for Malbec.
In this cuvée, the big tannic structure of Malbec takes one step backwards and the beautiful aromas of fresh dark fruit shine. Macerated for 20 days at low temperature to extract the fruity aromas, this Malbec aged in concrete egg-shaped tanks during six months. Fresh and crisp, the 30 year-old vines benefited from the bracing breeze at the Lot river slopes.
Dark ruby colour in the glass, this Malbec over-delivers aromas of peppermint, red fruit and spices. Unlike many big and bold wines made from Malbec, Tandem is light and crisp, with a balanced acidity and a special finesse enhanced by the minerality of the limestone soils where the vines grow.
Great value red to sip alongside some charcuterie and cheese.
