Founded in 1971 by Véronique and Aimé Guibert, Mas de Daumas Gassac carries forward a winemaking legacy that dates back 13 centuries to the monks of Aniane Abbey. Véronique and Aimé established the estate with a deep respect for the terroir. Since Aimé’s passing in 2016, their sons—Samuel, Gaël, Roman, Amélien, and Basile—have taken over its management, each contributing their expertise while upholding the estate’s core philosophy: respect. Guided by this principle, they see themselves not as alchemists but as stewards of the land, dedicated to crafting wines that embody the wild beauty and complexity of the Haute Vallée du Gassac.

The 2021 vintage was defined by climatic challenges, leading to one of the lowest natural yields in the history of Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge.

Rich and full-bodied, this wine opens with aromas of cassis, leather, and subtle mineral undertones. The palate is dry and structured, showcasing vibrant red fruit and warm spice, framed by firm yet well-balanced tannins. A core of dark, ripe fruit lends depth and elegance, unfolding across the velvety texture that feels both dense and refined. The long, smoky finish hints at the wine’s remarkable aging potential.

Ideal for pairing with rich, flavourful dishes, particularly red meats like lamb, game, and aged cheeses. For the best experience, decant before serving to fully reveal its depth and complexity.

94 Points

Dark berries, leather, pencil lead, roasted meat, dried herbs, bell peppers, cumin, bay leaves and some stones. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins and crisp acidity yet it has more intensity to deliver on the mid-palate. It’s poised with a restrained power. Harmonious and agile with great balance and vitality. Long, crunchy and developing finish. 84% cabernet sauvignon, 5% pinot noir, 2% merlot, 2% petit verdot, 2% cabernet franc, 2% tannat and 3% rare varieties. Try after 2026.
