Three Elms is an acronym for Emily, Laura and Molly - Three sisters who have curated wines that tells a story about their unity as a family and their upmost gratitude for the generations before them that showed them the way. They come from a rich history in the Frankland River region and thus have countless childhood memories growing up in the vineyard and winery. Encompassing the love and respect they have for the land on which the grapes are grown, Three Elms embraces the profound family bond that symbolizes their desire to create something beautiful.

This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Timbertops Range, which showcases wines of purity and complexity, which typify the Frankland River Region. Vibrant and deep crimson with ruby hues, the nose offers fresh blackberry flavours and sweet dried herbs. Dark berry fruit notes continue on the medium bodied palate with savoury dark chocolate mingling with the fine-grained dusty tannic structure. Ready to enjoy now, although with careful cellaring, will gain complexity over the next five to eight years.

A perfect match for rosemary braised lamb shanks.

Wine Companion

92 Points - Campbell Mattinson

12 months in French oak. Marked as 'Western Australia' though the label text suggests it was 'estate grown'. It's a medium-weight wine but it feels rugged and sturdy; perhaps 'traditional' is a better way to describe it. Boysenberry, blackcurrant and sweet, dried herb notes team with strong arms of tannin to produce a modern, ripe, satisfying red, good for now and beyond.

Three Elms is an acronym for sisters Emily, Laura and Molly, varietal curators from Western Australia and here with this Frankland River Timbertops range. Vineyards are found in the Great Southern region, a good place for red fruit juicy, sweetly herbal and light-ish cabernet sauvignon. Delightful stuff, ever so tart and chalky, far from heavy, cloying or lacquered with make up. Moderately and effectively structured, wholesome and good to go for up to five years. Drink 2022-2026. Tasted January 2022.
