Rich & Mineral
Cantina Bolzano, South Tyrol's largest cooperative winery, represents a union of over 224 growers from 350 hectares of Bolzano's finest vineyards. Formed in 2001 by merging the historical Gries Winery (1908) and St. Magdalena Winery (1930), Cantina Bolzano combines traditional expertise with a youthful, visionary approach. Grapes are sourced across a variety of distinctive vineyard locations, ranging from 240 to 800 meters above sea level, utilizing both alluvial valley floors and sandy hillside soils. Their rigorous selection process and green cultivation methods yield high-quality grapes, resulting in a wide range of wines across their Classic, Election, and Riserva lines.
This wine opens with exotic notes of pineapple, mango, and cantaloupe melon, complemented by soft hints of vanilla and nutmeg. The mineral-driven acidity highlights the fruit flavours on the palate and balances the rich, full texture, culminating in a satisfying finish that's both stony and fruit-filled.
Serve with fresh grilled clams topped with garlic and parsley butter or grilled shrimp skewers tossed with lemon and herbs.
