Fresh & Fruity

The Baud estate dates back to 1742, today the 9th generation manages the winery. Siblings Clementine and Bastien, both under 30, are making some of the best value wines in the area. Jura is that narrow valley in the remote hills between Burgundy and Switzerland, which millions of years ago was covered by an Ocean and today still bares many of the fossils from that time.

It is that amazing terroir where Poulsard grows, one of the most ancient grapes of the region. Its oblong berries are extremely juicy and delicate and the skins are very thin and release very few tannins.

This wine is light-bodied. It's fruity and softly tannic. Poulsard drinks like pure grape juice; but fermented. On the nose you get powerful aromas of blackcurrant and strawberry with some sweet hay, mushrooms and oak rounding it out. Without a doubt, a fresh, enjoyable wine for all seasons!

Try this wine on it's own or with poultry, pork, roasted veggies or cheese.

About the Winery

Domaine Baud Père et Fils

The history of Domaine Baud dates back to 1742, and it wasn't until 1950 when René Baud, the 7th generation, rebuilt the vineyard which had suffered from the phylloxera crisis and two World Wars.

Starting with only 4 hectares, the vineyard progressively expanded to 20 hectares with the help of successive generations. Now, managed by siblings Clémentine and Bastien, the 9th generation, the estate continues to flourish and grow, with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture and preserving the traditions and style that makes the wines of the Jura so unique and incredible.

The estate achieved the Terra Vitis certification in 2014 for its eco-friendly work and environmental preservation.
