Founded in 2005, Domaine de Bellene focuses on crafting wines from old vines with a commitment to sustainable, organic farming. Winemaker and proprietor Nicolas Potel's approach emphasizes producing wines that authentically reflect their origins and vintages, while preserving the land and culture for future generations. Under his leadership, Domaine de Bellene has earned respect among Burgundy enthusiasts, offering wines from both renowned and lesser-known appellations.

This wine originates from exceptional plots that were left without vines before the phylloxera crisis, offering remarkable terroir potential. Spanning three distinct areas and totalling 4 hectares, these unique plots have undergone meticulous planting, rigorous study, and soil preparation under expert supervision. This vintage features ripe, toasty aromas and bright orchard fruits on the nose, refined by zesty acidity and a mineral streak on the palate. The finish is marked by a lingering note of acacia.

91 Points - Michael Godel

A chardonnay-aligoté mix, 73 to 27 percent and a new direction for a Bourgogne white to affix Les Côteaux Bourguignons at the head of that game. Interesting to see how a chardonnay blend will fare in the throes of such a warm, ebullient and fruit-fixed vintage. In this case quite well because the aligoté helps to maintain a sense of brackish and bitten character. L'Eclos Des Abeilles is indeed one from the bees with its consistent honey note both aromatically sweet and savoury on the palate. Good mix of crunchy, chewy and salty here - like proper caramel corn without any sense of cloy. Drink 2024-2027.
