Gilvesy winery is located in the outskirts of Lake Balaton, near an ancient dormant volcano, in Hungary. Robert Gilvesy, who was born in Tillsonburg, moved to his family's homeland from Canada to start this exciting project involving native grape varieties and volcanic soils. Each mixed case includes three bottles of each of the following wines:

3 bottles x Gilvesy Bohem Balatoni Cuvée 2022 (Lake Balaton, Hungary)
White | Olaszrizling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc | 91 poinst by Wine Align

This blend of Olaszrizling, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc is light and fresh. On the nose, it's all about hints of mint, lemon and fresh cucumber, while on the palate it's zesty, with notes of green apple and citrus fruit. It's delicious when paired with summer meals: fresh salads dressed with dried fruits such as cranberries and walnuts, grilled fish with potatoes and zesty ceviches.

3 bottles x Gilvesy Mogyorós Sauvignon Blanc 2019 (Lake Balaton, Hungary)
White | Sauvignon Blanc | 92 points by Wine Align

The Sauvignon Blanc for this wine comes from the Mogyoros vineyard. With classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas of lemon, lime, tropical white fruit and a hint of spice. You can even denote some soft earthy tones. The wine is rich and creamy in texture, multilayered with nice acid and a salty, mineral finish.

This bold Sauvignon Blanc would be a perfect pairing for seafood dishes.

3 bottles x Gilvesy PIXU Olaszrizling 2022 (Lake Balaton, Hungary)
White | Sauvignon Blanc | 93 points by Wine Align

Gilvesy Pixu is a new direction in the life of the winery, but it is also part of a very organic process. In recent years, natural wines have gained more and more ground in the wine world, and Robert finds this style very exciting, yet divisive: he tasted a lot, experimented, read on the subject. He wanted to experiment in this direction since 2019, but it was important that these wines also find their place in the clean, familiar and polished world of the Gilvesy Estate. By now, the concept has matured and the experience gained has been embodied in the PIXU series.

This year, Furmint, Rhine Riesling and Italian Riesling will be launched. Each batch is characterized by gentle processing, fermentation with low and zero sulfur, unfiltered, unclear batches. Exciting wines with full texture and showing the fruitiness of the original must. These are the faces of Gilvesy Estate and St. George's Hill!
