Juan Jesús, who is a 4th generation winemaker, founded Viñátigo in 1990 and has worked tirelessly since then identifying, recuperating the native grapes of the Canary Islands. Today, his son Jorge is slowly taking over the viticulture and winemaking of Viñátigo, and is focusing on crafting wines from exceptional micro-vineyards in the north-face of Tenerife. Before settling down in his home-island, Jorge worked alongside great international winemakers in Chile, Argentina and Burgundy.

An island within an island, Paraje La Peña is situated in the highlands of Icod de los Vinos, nestled in a narrow ravine formed by the volcanic eruptions of Mount Teide to the north over the last two thousand years. For over thirty years, we have cultivated this isolated vineyard, protected from the rest of the island by a dense, green pine forest.

The vines, trained in parrales, cling to the volcanic walls of the ravine. This training method, a direct influence of the Portuguese settlers who established themselves in the northeastern part of Tenerife in the 16th century, serves as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage.

At about 450 meters above sea level and with direct exposure to the trade winds, this wine offers surprising freshness and acidity.

Pre-fermentative oxidation. Not controlled-temperature fermentation. Fermented and aged in amphora. All the whites age statically. Barely no racking at all.

Yellow fruit, plums and peach, and a gentle and polished palate with soft acidity and a bitter twist in the finish. This wine has tonnes of tahini, almond paste, smoked sea salt and pine. Tight on the nose explosive on palate with a slight burgundy feeling.

Peter Sichel (of the Bordeaux négociant family) first discovered the valley of Cucugnan on a road trip with a friend in the 1960s. He was so spellbound by the place that he bought a house there and, in 1988, planted a vineyard. The project grew, albeit slowly, but the arrival of Peter’s thoughtful and environmentally inspired grandson, Alexander Sichel, has turned the Domaine Peter Sichel project completely around.

Cucuniano is a historical name referring to the village of Cucugnan. This wine is made with 44% Syrah, 38% Grenache, and 18% Carignan.

Nestled at an altitude of 450m, the vineyards flourish in clay-limestone hills, with an average vine age of 17.5 years, epitomizing the essence of terroir. The grapes, hand-harvested on September 25, 2022, underwent a meticulous fermentation process with 40% whole cluster and native yeasts, followed by a refined 9-month aging in 500L barrels and concrete tanks.

This enchanting wine, with its ruby red hue and fragrant wild strawberry notes, pairs harmoniously with beef dishes. Its elegant structure and refreshing roundness not only delight the palate but also hold the promise of rewarding aging adventures ahead.

Terre Rouge is a single vineyard wine made from 100% Grenache. Set at an impressive altitude of 500m, this organically grown gem thrives in clay-laden marl soils, with its farmers diligently pursuing biodynamic certification.

Harvested by hand on October 3, 2022, the grapes underwent a gentle vinification process with 40% whole bunch fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and was aged for 12 months in foudres.

On the nose, it reveals vibrant aromas of red fruits and wild strawberries, while the palate showcases a fine and elegant structure that unfolds into a beautifully expressive and lengthy finish. 

With a delightful roundness maintaining freshness and subtle toasty notes, this Grenache is a superb companion for hearty rib of beef and spicy dishes, offering a promising evolution that delights with each passing year.

Floral & Fresh

All the major wine-growing areas have articulated the diversity of their territory through their villages. The diversity and complexity of the soil and geology of Rioja Alavesa means that the villages in the area have very different personalities.

Villabuena makes some of our favourite wines, which tend to be a perfect example of the ideal, middle-weight, highly drinkable, yet extremely age-worthy Rioja Alavesa.

Vineyard parcels are on hillsides, around 500 m above sea level, and well protected by the Sierra Cantabria. Ripening is later than in Laguardia but earlier than in Leza, giving the most beautiful balance between freshness, elegance and good fruit concentration. Bideona Villabuena shows precise and pure berry aromas, finely grained tannins and an amazing flow on the palate, even when young.

Floral & Fresh

Laguardia is perhaps the most charming of our villages. Vineyard parcels are high, on average 500m, but with more exposure and open to the Ebro valley. Ripening tends to be the earliest among our villages and the wines are the most elegant and perfumed. Laguardia also is the most approachable and gastronomic wine, due to its lighter, velvety tannins and juiciness on the palate. The aromatic profile is always lifted, delicate and floral, reminiscent of wild strawberries and violets.

The Piantini family's journey began in Chiusa di Pesio, Italy, where their ancestors left their wine-producing heritage to seek new opportunities in Mendoza, Argentina. Situated at the base of the Andes Mountains, this Cabernet benefits from a unique terroir, where clear skies, cool nights, and gravelly soils contribute to its deep colour, refined tannins, and vibrant fruit expression. It offers fresh, delicate aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants, interwoven with savoury notes of pepper, grilled nuts, and cloves. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with smooth, velvety tannins and finishes with a long, satisfying elegance.

This wine pairs beautifully with well-seasoned red meats such as beef and lamb, especially when served with pepper or mushroom-based sauces. It also complements game meats and hearty stews like veal ragout. For cheese pairings, gruyère, emmental, or manchego offer the perfect balance to enhance the wine’s flavours.

Floral & Mineral

The Puiggros family has been producing wines from their own vineyards in Odena since 1843 for friends and family, however their wines have only been available commercially since 2008. The family came to realize that their traditional techniques and special terroir were something worth sharing with the rest of the world.

Signes del Priorat is Puiggros' first experience in the Priorat. A very limited edition of 600 bottles, made exclusively with Carinyena grapes planted on the steep slopes of the Porrera area. The slate soil on the slopes is known as llicorella ("licorice," due to its dark color) and is the main feature of the soil's terroir and the success of its native grapes.

The region's infertile soil imparts a characteristic minerality to the wine. On the nose, the wine has aromas of lavender and eucalyptus, that mingle with hints of candied fruit, rosemary, caramel and liquorice. Many of the vines harvested for this wine are old and produce low yields, which contributes to the wine's intensity on the palate.

Pair this wine with grilled meats or vegetables, something that will stand up to the tannins in the wine is key here. Avoid chili heat, as alcohol content enhances these flavours.

Vibrant & Crunchy

“The Farm” is a 10-acre vineyard in Niagara’s Twenty Mile Bench, planted to Pinot Noir. The property is rooted in traditions of gathering family & friends, and where Peter and Dora Neudorf call home.

THE FARM, Poolhouse Rosé, is made from Gamay grown in Lincoln Lakeshore where the soils are rich in clay and high in minerals. We macerated the grapes on skins for 12 hours before gently pressing into a stainless tank where we started with a slow cold wild ferment, which harnessed the vibrant, dark fruit characters and bright acidity. Fermented dry and bottled shortly after.

The wine is dry & refreshing with notes of cherry & raspberry, and a lingering bright acidity.

Fine & Elegant

Joan Ramón Escoda has been shaking the pillars of winemaking in his home-country and abroad since the 90's. He is an absolute anarchist, a radical winemaker, a rock'n'roller and a grass-roots innovator; and his wines are everything but banal.

Carmen is made with Cabernet Franc aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. 

Intense & Mineral

Keint-He Winery & Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Prince Edward County. The winery has a strong focus on varietals that are typically grown in Burgundy, specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; through which they truly express the best of the County with wonderful individual expressions. Keint-He’s approach to winemaking is as down-to-earth as it gets and their quality is second to none.

This Melon de Bourgogne varietal wine presents a pale straw hue. The bouquet exhibits subtle notes of fresh mint, complemented by hints of lemon and stone fruit. On the palate, the wine displays a crisp acidity, with flavours of pear, nectarine, and peach unfolding in harmony. The 5-month ageing process in neutral oak imparts a refined character to the wine without overpowering its natural characteristics.

Intense & Mineral

Keint-He Winery & Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Prince Edward County. The winery has a strong focus on varietals that are typically grown in Burgundy, specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; through which they truly express the best of the County with wonderful individual expressions. Keint-He’s approach to winemaking is as down-to-earth as it gets and their quality is second to none.

This Pinot Gris presents a straw-like hue with subtle grey undertones, characteristic of the varietal. The aromatic profile is dominated by notes of mint and minerality, with undertones of eucalyptus and a floral backbone that provides depth and complexity. The palate is light-bodied and refreshing, with citrus flavours of lemon and lime that linger pleasantly. The mouthfeel is lubricative, typical of Pinot Gris, leaving a clean and revitalizing finish.

Textured & Bright

Once the site of a monastery of the Olivetan order, Giovanni Cenci lives and works his family’s generations- old farm, producing some of the most compelling, complete wines of the region. The family farm spans 30 hectares for grains and grazing, with only 7 hectares planted to ancient clones of Grechetto, Trebbiano Toscana, Sangiovese, Merlot, and more; above all, this is an ecosystem for living, not a winery for churning out bottles.

Wine has of course been crucial to this site for hundreds of years, not just because of the people who have worked the land, but rather the uniqueness of the place itself: massive blocks of travertine marble are visible alongside limestone-rich clay soils, giving the wines definition alongside meaningful substance.

Anticello is made with Grechetto grapes, which are destemmed and left in contact with skins for about an hour before starting fermentation. The grapes are then fermented in stainless steel (80%) and wooden barrels (20%). It ages for 7 months in steel with frequent bâtonnage. 

On the glass, it has a deep straw yellow colour with golden hues. On the nose, it has aromas of stone fruit, citrus, and wild flowers. The palate is fruity, savoury, fresh, slightly tannic, soft and powerful.

Bright & Fruity

Led by wine and cheesemaker Glenn Symons, Lighthall Vineyards is proud to make products that reflect the unique qualities of Prince Edward County. The winery specializes in low-intervention winemaking using grapes grown from their 63 acres of limestone-rich vineyards. They are known for high-quality chardonnay, pinot noir, and exceptional sparkling wines.

A delicious expression of County sparkling wine. Made with 100% vidal grapes, the bubbles are created using the Charmat method to preserve the wine’s bright, youthful fruit. Progression features smooth, persistent bubbles and fresh, vibrant acidity. This sparkling displays aromatics of white grapefruit and green apple peel with delicate floral notes which are repeated on the palette.

Served well chilled, Progression is perfect as an aperitif but also plays nicely as the main event.

Mineral & Zesty

As typically found in County Chardonnay, this wine starts with aromas of flinty
minerality, Asian pear, and salted caramel. A round palate is filled with flavours of golden delicious apple, baking spices, and a hint of lemon. Put together, it’s like an apple crumble before it’s been baked! The smooth texture and long finish leave you satiating for more.

Our Phillipston Road (Manchego-style) cheese is literally made for this wine. Rich, salty, and nutty, it makes a perfect match. Coquilles St. Jaques, Oysters Rockefeller, halibut, spaghetti cacio e pepe, zucchini ravioli with grated lemon zest, butter poached cod, and chicken with a cream sauce are all wonderful pairings.

Earthy & Peppery

A cooler vintage brings freshness to one of the county’s best varieties. Strawberry, red currant, candied cherry, and a savoury garrigue all burst from the glass. Tones of sumac, cedar, bittersweet chocolate and cinnamon bark bring a discerning finish to this elegant grape. The classic pairing of seared duck breast and mushroom risotto are a must-have.

Classically, a pan seared or confit duck breast with black pepper and wild mushroom risotto is delightful. We also recommend blue cheeses, gruyere, taleggio, jollof with smoked mackerel, grilled pork butt chop with a sumac compote, black truffles, miso chicken, grilled salmon, or tuna sashimi.

Cool-climate Merlot at its best. This wine is loaded with all things blue and moody: damson plums, violet, fig, blue-acai, and chocolate-covered blueberry. Rich oak tones of vanilla, chocolate, and marshmallow balance out the fruit intensity and leave a long yet distinguished finish.

Fatty, high protein foods are recommended to bind with the high tannin and balance the acidity. Roasted leg of lamb with Saskatoon berry compote, coffee-rubbed steak, seared duck breast, creole jambalaya, pork loin with roasted plums, and blue cheeses all go

A blend of fruit from 4 different vineyards from the best appellations across Niagara, the 2021 Pinot Noir is the epitome of the Leaning Post style. This wine combines classic “P(inot)-funk” flavours of candy cane beet root, earth, leaves and dirt with stunning bing cherry and raspberry.  Made in a style that is slightly more approachable than our single-vineyard Pinots, it still shows incredible depth and complexity. The incredibly supple mouthfeel, medium body and balanced acidity frame exceptional flavour intensity, leading to a long, sweeping finish the ends on a decidedly mineral and crunchy note.

Pair this Pinot Noir with smoky glazed ham or easy lentil curry.

This wine will age for 4 to 5 years.  

Spicy & Tropical

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

Harvested on September 25, 2021, the grapes were destemmed, into concrete tanks where it went through a spontaneous fermentation. It remained in concrete and aged on skins for 25 days, then it was gently pressed into clay amphora (17%) and stainless steel (83%). This wine was racked only a handful of times prior to being bottled unfiltered on April 13, 2022.

This wine represents the evolving nature of wine in Niagara. Orange marmalade, jalapeño pepper jelly, and passionfruit dominate the nose and palate, while elderflower honey, cream and lemon dominate the palate with a rich and oily texture. It is all tied together with bracing acidity, gorgeous texture and a seam of fine tannin. Chill and drink as it warms to reveal new facets of its unique personality.

Enjoy with fish tacos or fish and chips.

Spiced & Round

Husband and wife duo Ilya and Nadia started Leaning Post winery in Niagara over 10 years ago. Initially a virtual set up, the winery now located on Highway 8, has become a reference producer in Niagara.

This blended wine (61% Merlot, 39& Cabernet Franc) always over-delivers massively for the price. Blackberry, cassis, raspberry and mulberry instantly appear on the nose, with lilac, cracked white pepper, licorice and pancetta following closely behind. On the palate, the warmth and weight of the 2020 vintage is immediately evident, with a very broad and weighty mid-palate featuring plum, wild-blueberry, and strawberry layered over dark- chocolate and graphite with wisps of herbs-de-provence and black olive fading in and out.

The powerful but soft tannins make it satisfying to drink now with a good decant, but it will certainly age well over the next 5-8 years. Great with burgers, cured meat, and hard cheese.

Zesty & Mineral

Mature vines really display the wonderful minerality of the Twenty Mile Bench in Vineland. This Chardonnay has fantastic peach, pear and hazelnut aromas while on the palate, pineapple, mandarin orange, lemon curd, and crème-brulee play off a mineral base. A round, mouth-filling texture is balanced by good acidity leading to a long, supple finish.

Drink with lemon roasted chicken, semi-soft cheese, and freshly baked bread. It will age well for the next 5-8 years if you can wait.

The wine opens up with alluring aromas of blackcurrants and raspberries, quickly allowing notes of mint leaves and cigar box to unfold alongside the fruit. Full-bodied on the palate without feeling heavy, there's excellent concentration of ripe fruit, tea leaves and black olive tapenade that tempers the sturdy tannins. Sprightly acidity underscores the wine with freshness and helps carry the fruit and gentle spices into the finish.

It has great energy and precision, but above all it stands out for its mineral texture and depth. Expect to find green apple and crunchy peach lasting long into the saline-tinged finish. 

Consider pairing with shellfish and crustaceans - think lobster, crab, bivalves, shrimp, prawns & scallops! White meats also work very well, such as pork tenderloin or veal chops.

The name Los Primos (the cousins) refers to the closeness of style and quality of the vineyard parcels (named El Primo, Chuir, and La Cuñada)

The nose is ripe and complex, declaring aromas of fresh bing cherries, rosehip and wild strawberries up front. Softer floral aromas of violet and lavender unfurl underneath the fruits giving way to notes of dried orange peel and damp forest floor. The palate it is tense, linear, and deep, with juicy acidity and notes of pomegranate, graphite-minerality and chalk. The firm but extremely fine tannins envelop the palate with a polished and persistent texture. The tight finish and great structure make this wine ideal for cellaring.

We recommend pouring a glass alongside slow braised duck ragu to warm you up on a chilly night.

In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. These grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time.

Intense dark colour. The nose shows restraint, with aromas of black berry, liquorice and cedar notes. The palate is tight and fresh followed by fine, dense tannins. This is a wine built to last and for early drinking would benefit with decanting.   

This wine will be a great match alongside chargrilled ribeye on the bone.

Hand selected from our favourite barrels of PEC grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this is a cool-climate red specifically crafted for character, depth, and aging potential. The result is a something greater than the sum of its parts. A mix of brambleberry, baking spices, vanilla, and cocoa jump from the glass while the intensity of the fruit, structure, and pure deliciousness will leave a lasting impression.

Nicolas Potel is an iconic producer and pioneer in the Burgundy winemaking scene. He grew up in a family dedicated to wine; and after gaining some experience internationally, he started his own project in the late 90's. The Maison Roche de Bellene offers a complete range of carefully cultivated and versatile wines, often made from old vines. All of the Maison wines are made with respect to sustainable and natural farming practices, with as little intervention as necessary to showcase their individual terroirs.

The 2022 vintage delivered another year of excellent ripeness and high-quality grapes. Lively and expressive, this wine opens with bright aromas of citrus—lemon and grapefruit—alongside delicate notes of pear and crisp apple. Subtle mineral nuances, characteristic of the region, add depth, while a hint of florals enhances its elegant bouquet. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with crisp acidity that brings energy and precision. Flavours of juicy orchard fruits are layered with slate-like minerality and a touch of salinity, leading to a clean, refreshing finish that lingers beautifully.

Pairs wonderfully with seafood-based dishes - try with steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic broth or fresh oysters on the half shell with a mignonette sauce.
